Chapter 117 Back to School

For breakfast on September 1, Tom, the owner of the Broken Cauldron Bar, held a cup of hot tea as usual and knocked on the door of Room 13 of the Broken Cauldron Bar.

Matthew, sleepy, opened the door and took the cup of tea from the grinning old Tom.

He had never received such treatment when he lived in the Broken Cauldron Bar last year... Maybe it was because he paid this year.

After Tom left, Matthew touched his purse, and there were still the last ten Gallons left... enough. After returning to school, there was no money to spend on the floor.

Wear clothes in the room, throw the toad back into the cage, and then stuff all the textbooks that I took out for the past two days back into my suitcase.

Then he walked out of Room 13.

Then go down the stairs.

...

Soon, three friends gathered in the restaurant of the Broken Cauldron Bar and started having breakfast.

Neville went to the counter to order food.

Hermione frowned and was reading the Prophet Daily.

"Bad news, Matthew!" Hermione said suddenly with some fuss.

"What's wrong?" Matthew yawned and asked casually.

"It was those Azkaban fugitives!" Hermione put down the newspaper in her hand and replied seriously.

"Fugitive?" Matthew asked while taking a sip of hot tea: "Have the Ministry of Magic disclosed the identities of those fugitives?"

"No, no...Minister Millison Barnold still insisted that the three fugitives involved high secrets and would not disclose their information for the time being...The Ministry of Magic will arrest them as much as possible!" Hermione shook her head.

"What a joke." Matthew shrugged: "The three people have been running away for almost two months, so how can they be arrested as soon as possible."

To be honest, Matthew is indeed a little dissatisfied with the Ministry of Magic now.

Of course, this is mainly because of the previous "smuggling".

Although the "smuggling" incident was finally resolved perfectly, a thread related to the book that Matthew finally found was broken.

Lucius Malfoy was arrested in the Ministry of Magic, but three days later he was acquitted.

As for Tom Gunter, Matthew did not see any reports related to this name in the Prophet Daily this summer... It can be imagined that those people from the Ministry of Magic failed to arrest him, and even had no clue about him.

Even the things in that mysterious box, the Mysterious Things Department did not disclose any information related to it... Matthew didn't know what was there.

It seems that even if there is a minister, the official law enforcement agency of the Ministry of Magic is not that reliable.

"The Ministry of Magic claims that in order to better capture the suspects and to protect the personal safety of Hogwarts..." Hermione continued reading the content in the newspaper: "They will let some dementors station in some levels of Hogwarts..."

"...But, what is the dementor?" She looked a little puzzled.

"Dementor is an extremely evil creature." Neville happened to return to the table with a plate of sandwich, and he heard Hermione's question: "What my dad told me is... evil, scary, and ugly... no one would like this creature!"

Matthew blinked slightly and asked in surprise: "Principal Grindelwald allows the dementors to be stationed in Hogwarts?"

"Yes." Hermione nodded and continued to scan the newspaper: "Yes, after Principal Grindelwald's permission... But Principal Grindelwald also warned that dementors are prohibited from contacting or affecting the lives of teachers and students in Hogwarts... Otherwise, the consequences will be borne by one..."

"That sounds like our lives will not be affected in any way." Matthew said lightly.

...

After breakfast, the three of them were ready to set off.

They gathered at the fireplace in Matthew's room, and Matthew went to find Old Tom to ask for some Floor powder.

This was not the first time that the three of them had traveled in this way, and they didn't need any guidance; it just took them a little time to start a fire in the fireplace.

"King's Cross Station!" Matthew took a small handful of Floor powder, shouted, and stepped into the flames.

The surrounding scenes suddenly changed, and the whole body was spinning rapidly—

After Matthew stabilized his body, he arrived at his destination.

The fireplace room at King's Cross Station, almost all the British fireplaces are connected here; every few seconds, other wizards emerge around.

Sometimes Matthew was a little confused, why not go directly to Hogwarts through the "Feilu.com"... Maybe it's because of a sense of ritual?

Neville and Hermione soon arrived at the fireplace room; Neville seemed to be choking with the ashes and coughing constantly.

The three of them walked out of the fireplace room and arrived at the Nine and Three-quarters Station.

As soon as they looked up, they saw the Hogwarts Express, a bright red steam locomotive, spitting smoke, and the platform was filled with little wizards and men and women who were sending their children onto the train.

"We'll go behind the train, which is relatively empty. Let's take up a space!" Hermione pushed the car and walked directly in front of the three of them.

Neville and Matthew had to follow.

They walked all the way to the rear of the train, in front of a relatively empty carriage.

Then, they first brought their luggage onto the train; Neville's owl cage and Matthew's toad cage were placed on the luggage rack.

Then, I found an empty compartment and settled down.

Only Hermione held her Crook Hill in her arms until she entered the compartment and released it.

"Crook Mountain, you need to exercise more," she said kindly.

It’s a pity that her pet was not grateful. After running to the corner of the compartment, it lay down lazily and didn’t want to move.

With a loud whistle, the guard walked along the train and closed the door.

Then, the locomotive spewed out steam and slowly started... The train accelerated little by little, getting faster and faster until the King's Cross Station was completely invisible.

"This long summer vacation is finally over." Sitting in the seat in the compartment, Matthew stretched and said, "We can finally go back to Hogwarts!"

"I hope the summer vacation will be longer!" Neville whispered.

Hermione opened her mouth, about to say something-

Suddenly, the door of the compartment was opened and a tall wizard broke in.

He is a strange adult.

This surprised all the three second-grade students in the compartment.

Because before that, except for the witch who was pushing a cart to "sell" snacks, they had never seen other adult wizards on the train.
