Chapter 232 The Monk in the Painting The Heart of the Buddha
At this time, Zai Shisheng's heart was not only about trying to pounce into the monk's arms and crying bitterly, but he had no thoughts, because only in front of the monk's eyes could he show his fragile side without reservation. He had been strong for too long, and now he finally met his master again, his mask broke, and he turned back to the child he was back then.
But at this moment, something even more incredible happened.
Just as Shisheng ran behind the monk master, the monk master's figure suddenly became blurred, just like the reflection of the ripples on the water surface, the shadow slowly faded and finally disappeared.
And only an ancient painting of the bat was left in place.
Above the scroll, a compassionate monk sitting on his back and tilted his head. There was a strange astrology in the northwest corner of the painting. Under the starry sky, the monk's Dharma appearance was dignified. He closed his hands and his eyes slightly closed. The corners of his mouth smiled upwards, but three tears of different colors flowed out from the corners of his eyes.
Shisheng knelt on the ground like crazy. The scene just now was definitely not a dream, but what about the master? Why did he disappear?
"Master! Where are you, Master?" Shisheng cried under the Bodhi tree, "Please come out! Shisheng knew that he was wrong. Shisheng is no longer naughty and angry anymore. Even if someone bullies me as a motherless child, I will not lose control. Really... Shisheng really misses you so much!!"
His crying was very loud. Under the lush Bodhi tree and in the empty and quiet garden, his crying was so sad. However, no matter how he cried, he did not return any answer. Only the spiritual white dog sat in front of him. Looking at Shisheng kindly, tears fell on the scroll, and tears stinged the longing and wet the time.
Shisheng bit his lips, rubbed his swollen eyes, and choked, "Master, why don't you see me? Do you know how many words I have hidden in my heart over the years to say to you? I have made friends and are no longer alone. I also try to let go of my hatred. Even if I am hungry, I will not steal other people's food again. I... I... I want to protect everyone like you protect me. For this reason, I have given my life to come here. I had the opportunity to see you, but why can't you still see me? Why............"
The more Shisheng cried, the more sad he became, so that his headache was split. The big white dog looked at him quietly, and he couldn't speak. Otherwise, he would have told Shisheng why all this was for the monk.
Time passed by little by little. Just as Shisheng's throat was hoarse, and when he heard the exit of the garden, a surprised voice suddenly came from: "Who is crying here? Huh... it's you, little brother!?"
Shisheng slowly turned his head, but saw a tall and big horse man standing at the entrance of the garden. This man was wearing a gray monk's robe, with a strong face, and a green and empty beard on his chin. Who would have been the "Heavenly Warriors Lingquan" who had met Shisheng before?
I really didn't expect it to get rid of the pursuit of those ghost messengers and came to the "Seeing Shop" here by making an appointment.
However, when Shisheng saw Guan Lingquan, he was not in any mood to be polite to him. Since the monk master disappeared again, he was extremely sad and helpless at this time. After seeing Shisheng's appearance, Guan Lingquan was also very puzzled, so he walked over and gave respect to the big white dog. After he was about to speak to Shisheng, his eyes were firmly attracted by the painting in front of Shisheng.
At that time, Guan Lingquan was furrowing, and he didn't care why he cried when he was here. He just asked him urgently: "Where is the illusion body of the Bodhisattva? This painting... Could it be you... little brother, can you tell me who is the Bodhisattva in this painting? "
"I don't know what Bodhisattva you are talking about." Shisheng sighed with a sob: "The monk in this painting is my master, and he raised me."
Guan Lingquan was shocked, then hurriedly looked at the big white dog, and the big white dog nodded calmly to him. Guan Lingquan immediately felt awe-inspiring, and saw him slowly sitting next to Shisheng, and then slowly said to him: "Little brother, do you know who your master is?"
"Master is Master." Shisheng responded with tears in his eyes, and then he suddenly thought of something, so he hurriedly turned his head, grabbed Guan Lingquan's hands, and asked urgently in a hoarse voice: "Brother Guan, do you know what my master is right? Do you know where he is now? Why did he lose sight when we just met?"
Guan Lingquan sighed, then said seriously to Shisheng: "Little brother, do you know that you have a respectable master. It has not gone anywhere else, it has always been here."
After saying this, Guan Lingquan's eyes fell on the painting again, and his eyes were full of respect.
The cause and condition of this holy practice actually starts with ‘hell’.
We often talk about hell. We usually only know that hell exists in the underworld, and there are as many as eighteen levels, but we don’t know that the number of real hells is far beyond this concept.
The Eighteen Hell is just a general concept and is the most famous Eighteen execution grounds. However, in addition, there are still three major hells, "Eight Flames", "Eight Heats", and "Eight Colds". Moreover, these three major hells lead to countless small hells. The entire underworld is like an ant hole, which is nearly 80,000 hells.
These hells are like independent spaces that are not open to mortals. What's amazing is that these "hells" can independently generate more hells. Some hells are of the scale to accommodate tens of thousands of people, while others are only imprisoned. Most of these hells are imprisoned for cultivators who have powerful magic power and commit crimes during their lifetime, big demons, or sinful gods who have committed the "innate June 4th God Rules" in heaven. Many legendary demons are imprisoned alone in this small hell that is like an isolated world.
Shisheng didn't know why Guan Lingquan said this to him, and Guan Lingquan talked about hell naturally had its purpose. After talking about this, Guan Lingquan calmly said to Shisheng: "Many, many years ago, there was a legend in the underworld that had few sutras…………………………”
It is said that there is an unknown hell. The devil king who endangers the ancient Buddha before he achieved his true fruit. This devil king is called "Tian Cittao Xun". When I was a Buddha who confirmed the Buddha's path, he turned into a snake with a winged snake's mouth and held a pearl on his mouth to try to disturb my Buddha's understanding of the Dharma. After seeing that he failed, he instigated the world to commit fraud and evil, and then he was imprisoned by my Buddha in this small hell.
And just years ago, when Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva traveled to hell and passed through the hell where the demon king Tian Chi Duozhan was, he saw that the demon king had been imprisoned for so long and had no regrets, so he stepped forward to talk to him. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva was supremely compassionate. Even the demon king wanted to be liberated, but he didn't expect that after listening to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva that day, Cri Duozhan laughed arrogantly and said: People in the world are ignorant, greed, anger, and ignorance are caused by nature. What's the harm that I can deceive the world? It's just awakening his nature. What's the sin?
The Bodhisattva calmly revealed: Although greed, anger and ignorance are nature, they can be regarded as a mirror to make the world realize the kindness and beauty, and everything has two sides. If you destroy it like this, you will be a big mistake.
That day, I laughed and said, "When it comes to cause and effect, you will sleep with cause and effect. How many people can understand your principles? And now, even if I don't need to take action, the sky will bring disasters to destroy the world. If you still bless those mortals, why do you want to make a bet with me? Just bet whether mortals can save themselves this time. If you lose, you have to let me go. And if I lose, you will be willing to be strange Buddhists.
The Bodhisattva was compassionate and naturally responded to the bet. However, as the Bodhisattva above, it was inconvenient to go to the world alone. So the Bodhisattva took a piece of white paper and had already drawn a monk sitting on the back of the people on it. Then he breathed a sigh of relief on the painting, and the monk on the painting became vividly reborn by the Bodhisattva's consciousness.
The monk who came out of the painting can be said to be the incarnation of Ksitigarbha, but he is not Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. The scroll painted by the Bodhisattva also contains the Zen meaning: Why did the Bodhisattva sit back? He sighed that he would not turn back for his whole life.
In fact, sentient beings are not unwilling to look back, but their inner confusion caused by lack of certain courage.
Therefore, the monk in the painting took the Buddha's will of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and went to the world with the name "Jinluojue". His purpose was to find a kind person who can take justice in the world to guide him in order to deal with the catastrophe of destruction that will occur in the future.
However, the monks in the paintings traveled all over the country and saw some selfish and deceptive things wherever they went. In the face of the interests of the Dharma-Ending Age, it seems that the kindness and humility in human nature have become the lowest things. For money, the elderly can pretend to be sick and disgusted and blackmailed the kind people who support them with kindness. For money, they can destroy their conscience and traffic in humans. For money, the people in the government bully good and fear evil and turn black and white, and they will be servile to those with power and power, and will bully the people without power.
The five aggregates are suffering, and it is precisely because the five aggregates are irresistible to a distorted state. The distortion of the five aggregates is also the distortion of the human heart. It is under the concept of distorted environment that some originally precious things begin to become despised.
After seeing the various aspects of the world in the surging sea of suffering, the monk in the painting slowly changed. Its heart is the Buddha's heart, and he really doesn't want to see the tragedy of the world happening constantly.
So, it actually violated its original task and silently helped those kind people during this period of time in the world.
However, it doesn't even know whether its decision is wrong or right. However, it has no regrets. Since it is a Buddha, even if it can only save one, it cannot let innocent people suffer.
But it itself didn't know that its last good deed was in the north.
Thirty years ago, a tragic massacre of pregnant women occurred in the northern country. In the whole incident, the only person who successfully gave birth on that day was the woman named Ji Wulan. Perhaps it was really destined that in the dying northern country, Ji Wula, only Ji Wula had good intentions. Because of this, she saved her child, but she died of difficult labor.
Later, the monk in the painting could not bear to abandon the child, so he slowly raised him to become a human, which delayed his own tasks. When the effect of his Ksitigarbha Buddha energy was about to disappear, the child finally grew up. Therefore, the monk in the painting smiled and finally returned to the underworld.
Logically speaking, it did not complete the task, so it naturally had to apologize to the Bodhisattva, but at that time the Bodhisattva did not blame it, and only said to it: Have you ever realized what you have learned during this trip to the human world?
The monk in the painting said truthfully: This time I traveled around the world, saw all kinds of things and experienced all living beings. Although most of them are cunning people, it is because of this that they show the preciousness of kindness. The precious things will eventually shine. I watched a child from birth to adulthood, and I tried my best to guide him to grow up from those dirt and things to grow up, but what I didn't expect was that while teaching him how to grow, I also understood a lot. I couldn't describe that kind of happiness, just like quietly watching a flower grow up and a leaf float. From the seeds sprout, gradually thriving, and then blooming. During this period, my heart was warm, but I had some regrets. Before I saw the flower blooming, I had no time.
After hearing the monk in the painting, the Bodhisattva smiled. He said to the monk in the painting: It takes time for the flowers to bloom. You have completed your own tasks and even transcended yourself. Next, just wait for the flowers to bloom.
After saying that, the Bodhisattva left with a gratified smile.
The monk in the painting was thinking about the Bodhisattva's words. After a long time of reassurance, the Bodhisattva's implication was that the monk in the painting had already attained enlightenment. Through this sudden enlightenment, he could completely transcend and become a Buddha. However, the monk in the painting did not do this. From that day on, he sat quietly under the Bodhi tree next to the lotus pond where he listened to the sutras. Ten, twenty, and thirty years, the years in the underworld are much slower than in the sun. No one knows why it gave up becoming a Buddha and waited here, and what was it waiting for?
Could it be that you are really waiting for a flower to bloom?
Maybe, I'm just waiting for a relative who can't let go.
As the listener of the sutra in the sutra, Guan Quanling didn't know why the monk in the painting was waiting hard, but recently, it finally understood.
It turns out that what the monk in the painting is waiting for is a reunion with his own relatives.
After hearing this, Shisheng's tears could no longer stop and dripping on the painting. It turned out that Master chose me. It turned out that Master had paid so much for me, and even gave up becoming a Buddha in order to see me.
"Shisheng, have you found that flower?"
How many times have I realized in my dreams? At this time, Shisheng finally realized that the monk in the painting chose Shisheng, just to cultivate him into an open and honest person. Everyone has a flower in their hearts, but not everyone's flower can bloom. Is the flower in Shisheng's heart blooming now?
Perhaps, the answer was revealed before the monk disappeared.
"Master!!" Shisheng knelt before the portrait, and cried to the master in the painting at the top of his lungs: "Shisheng already understands! Thank you for teaching Shisheng so much! I now understand that my beliefs are no longer confused, and I also understand why I should live! Thank you for choosing me! For so many years...thank you!!!"
Shisheng kowtowed deeply to the scroll, and his words were full of gratitude, which came from his heart. In fact, the monk in the painting had indeed completed the task. He spent his short life cultivating a young man with precious and kindness. After so many years, Shisheng has really grown into a tall and upright knight. He has not forgotten his original intention and is destined to continue to fight to save the people, and from today onwards, without regrets.
After knowing the truth, Shisheng felt sad, because the monk and disciple who had depended on each other on the snow-capped mountains finally met after so many years, but they parted again after seeing each other. But Shisheng felt proud in his heart because he had never been so firm in his belief.
Thank you, Master, thank you for teaching me how to protect my loved ones and even protect all precious things!
Thinking of this, Shisheng finally let go. Its master has waited for it for so many years, and now he has finally fulfilled this wish and left. Although he is sad, he should be happy about it.
So Shisheng slowly wiped away the tears from his face, and then carefully picked up the scroll. At this moment, Guan Lingquan sighed: "I really didn't expect that this Bodhisattva portrait is so kind. It has been waiting for you for so many years to meet you. Brother, you have a deep Buddhist relationship...... Huh? Why are there three tears on this portrait? I remember that there are no tears on the face of the illusion Bodhisattva. Could it be that this is its revelation to you?"
"I don't know what kind of Buddhist fate." Shisheng sighed: "I only know that he is a relative who raised me, that's enough. By the way, Brother Guan, you really take it here, those ghost messengers who caught you..."
"Those candids." Guan Lingquan smiled and then said, "It's too tender to catch me. If it weren't for Xie Bi'an at the beginning... Forget it, this is not a place to talk. Come on, little brother, thank you for your help at that time. Let's change the place and talk while drinking tea."
Shisheng nodded, then carefully packed the scroll, wrapped it in a coat and put it on his back. With his master there, he was indeed much more at ease. Then, under the guidance of Guan Lingquan, Shisheng and the Big White Dog came to a meditation room in the Sutra Listening Office. This place was the place where Guan Lingquan practiced. There were no tables and chairs in the room, only long seats were everywhere. Guan Lingquan was also a generous person. After entering the room, it took out three lifetimes, used a pottery pot to get some water, and placed it in front of Shisheng and the White Dog, and smiled and said, "Hey, it's a pity that there is no wine in the pure Buddhist temple. Otherwise, I really want to drink a few drinks with you brothers."
Shisheng was not a polite person, so he sat with him on the ground, picked up the bowl and took a sip, and found that the water was cool and the smell was fragrant after drinking it. But he was not here to drink tea this time. In fact, the reason why he tried every means to think of the Judaism was to find this Guan Lingquan. So he put down the water bowl at that time and asked Guan Lingquan in a tone of still nasal voice: "Brother Guan, what crime did you commit? So those ghost messengers want to kill you like this? They said that you privately let many evil ghosts be reincarnated. Is this a real thing?"
Guan Lingquan laughed and then said to Shisheng: "These bastards are really irrelevant, but they are right. I did let many ghosts reincarnate, but those ghosts are not 'evil ghosts'. On the contrary, those pitiful souls who cannot afford the so-called 'reincarnation rent' or were captured in hell for other ghosts! The reason why those ghosts exclude me so much is because I don't want to be with them and discover their secrets!"
Sure enough, Guan Lingquan was also wronged. After experiencing this period of time in the underworld, Shisheng had already understood the darkness hidden here. All things that seemed normal seemed to hide unknown secrets. Guan Lingquan was the first person to dare to challenge those ghost messengers. It must have understood all the activities here. Thinking of this, Shisheng asked Guan Lingquan: "Brother Guan, what is the 'secret' you are talking about?"
