Chapter 9 The Original Yellow Robe

Early in the morning of December 1, the Northern Han Dynasty received an urgent report from the 800 miles north, and the Liao Dynasty troops went out to disturb the northern border again. Without exception, the officials of all sizes and civil affairs immediately turned their attention to the Tianxiong Jiedushi and the Privy Councilor Guo Wei, who was as strong as the sky.

Without saying a word, Guo Wei asked the Queen Mother to write an edict in the Jin Palace, personally led all the Tianxiong Army to fight against the enemy, and ordered all the Tianxiong soldiers to carry food and grass for ten days, gather at the north gate at noon, and headed towards Yedu (now Handan, Hebei).

Because the Tianxiong Army guarded Hebei, its main task was to resist the Khitan cavalry that was coming and going, and had long developed the marching efficiency of orders and decisiveness. However, when Guo Wei and his staff rushed to the north gate of Tokyo (now Kaifeng, Henan), it was beyond his expectations that the troops that had arrived were sparse, and many generals had not yet led their troops to arrive.

Guo Wei was furious and immediately ordered someone to urge him. After only a few days of entering Tokyo City? Why, everyone is reluctant to let this world of flowers?

After a long time, the people finally gathered together, and the army began to line up to the north. Strange things happened one after another:

After a while, the grain and fodder officer in charge of logistics supplies came over to apologize that more than ten horses carrying food and grass had broken axles, and requested permission to repair it before chasing the large team;

After a while, all the cavalrymen who were opening the road in front stopped again. The horse army commanded Guo Chongwei and sent people to report that there were wandering soldiers in front of him who came to harass him. It was probably the imperial guards who had missed the net a few days ago.

When Guo Wei heard this, his nose was so angry that he was crooked. What an excuse? All the imperial guards have surrendered to him. Who would have blocked the path of tens of thousands of troops so ignorantly?

Just when Guo Wei was about to get angry, Wei Renpu rushed forward and tried his best to comfort Guo Wei and calm down. He directly expressed the biggest concern in the hearts of these generals: Our Tianxiong Army risked the world's most ruthless army to leave Tokyo and killed the emperor of the dynasty. Now that he left like this, will the accounts be settled soon?

Guo Wei said angrily: "When the Khitan invaded, the country was in danger, how can we act voluntarily? If we pass the orders on, we will be lazy and we will be engaged in military law!"

The military order was quickly passed, and the overall army accelerated and rushed forward for a short while, and the marching speed slowed down again.

Seeing this situation, Guo Wei was helpless. Everyone couldn't pull him over and beat a few military sticks, right?!

On the evening of December 3, the Tianxiong army took two and a half days to arrive at Huazhou (now Hua County, Anyang City, Henan Province) 180 miles away, and camped south of the river, west of Huazhou City.

At the hour of Hai (9:00 p.m.), Guo Wei, who was dealing with military affairs with a light, received an urgent report from the tent. The rear army's baggage suddenly caught fire, and all the food and grass were burned. The grain and fodder commander was tied away and asked for guilt.

Guo Wei sighed helplessly and did not order the commander to deal with it. He just ordered the army to temporarily stay in Chanzhou and send other personnel to Huazhou to Chanzhou City, and Yedu to collect food and grass.

This night is destined to be a quiet night.

At midnight (eleven o'clock in the evening), Chai Rong, the commander of Tianxiongya Neidu who was left by Guo Wei, led 200 cavalry to the camp. Before he could see Guo Wei, he secretly gathered the generals in the army to conduct a secret discussion.

At this moment, a group of people came from outside the camp. The leading eunuch held the imperial edict and claimed to be the special envoy of the current emperor. He came to comfort Guo Wei and Guo.

The gatekeeper invited the group to an idle tent, turned around and came to a lie, informing the generals of the army who were gathering here to discuss the news.

The tent exploded immediately.

"What Master? A yellow-haired boy really respects me!" Deputy General Wang Yanchao jumped out and shouted loudly.

After Emperor Yin of Han died, there were four people named in the Later Han royal family: Liu Chong, the younger brother of Emperor Gaozu Liu Zhiyuan, the younger brother of Emperor Gaozu Liu Zhiyuan, the younger brother of Emperor Gaozu Liu Xin, the younger brother of Emperor Yin of Later Han. Unfortunately, Liu Chengxun, the younger brother of Emperor Yin of Later Han, who should have inherited the throne, has always been seriously ill and cannot be an emperor at all.

Liu Chong's son, Wuning Jiedushi Liu Yun, has been loved by Emperor Gaozu of the Later Han Dynasty since he was a young man. Because of this, Guo Wei reported to Empress Dowager Li ten days ago under the name of a group discussion, and the Grand Tutor Feng Daobei of the current dynasty went to Xuzhou to welcome Liu Yun as the emperor. Liu Yun is only twenty-four years old now. After learning that Guo Wei was going to lead the troops to fight again, he followed Feng Dao's advice and immediately sent an envoy to work day and night to work hard.

Chai Rong glared at the reckless Wang Yanchao and said softly: "Everyone is as clear as a mirror. If we are trapped in the capital, we will be guilty of unforgivable sins. If the Liu family rushes back to the capital, we will die. Let's make a decision quickly."

"Needless to say, we will obey General Guo's arrangements!" The generals stood up and said with a beating in their chests.

"Then I will act separately, and I must do this..." Chai Rong gathered these people in front of me and spoke in detail.

That night, a rumor spread quickly in the army. Now the ministers in the capital are plotting that when the new emperor arrives, they will find an opportunity to kill General Guo Wei and Guo, and then deal with the generals and soldiers of the Tianxiong Army one by one.

On December 4th, at the Mao hour (5 am), Guo Wei woke up on time, and immediately a personal guard came forward to report that the emperor sent an envoy to express his condolences, just outside the tent.

Guo Wei immediately ordered the gathering of squad drums, set up incense tables, and prepare to receive the order.

The edict was issued by a young eunuch who had no need on the surface. He directly announced the edict when he got in the account. The imperial edict was written very enthusiastically and humble. Liu Yun praised Guo Wei as the pillar of the country. The younger generation wished the envoy Guo to go on a smooth journey and gave him some money and property to show consolation.

Guo Wei naturally knelt down to receive the order. After listening to the announcement, he looked up and found that no one in the group of people in the tent bowed and listened to the order. His face immediately darkened. When he found Chai Rong, who was standing among the group generals, his face was even colder as ice.

He politely sent the envoy away, but Guo Wei ignored the generals and just ordered the army to immediately set up the camp and head straight to Chanzhou (now Puyang, Henan) to prepare to cross the Yellow River.

At Shen time in the afternoon (5 o'clock), a slow army advanced to the inn in the west of Chanzhou City. When Guo Wei saw that the soldiers stopped automatically, he had to instruct the army to station on the spot and enter the inn to rest.

Shortly after that, as recorded in the history books, "The soldiers of the army rushed to the post office like a wall, and (Guo Wei) refused him behind closed doors. The soldiers climbed the wall and walked over the house, and asked to be the emperor. The army was chaotic, climbed the steps and surrounded the stairs, and supported him, or cracked the yellow flag to be placed on the emperor's body, replaced the ochre robe, and the mountain was shaking the earth... The army then led the emperor to travel south."

This is the original "yellow robe" in history. The soldiers rushed forward and even pulled off the yellow flag and represented the yellow robe and put it on Guo Wei. Although Guo Wei was depressed and was extremely dull four times in a row, he was just hugged on the dragon throne under "helplessness".

Now that things have come, the army no longer crosses the river and turns toward Tokyo City. Then, a drama full of positive energy was staged.

On the way back, under the threat of the generals, Guo Wei "was going to the empress dowager's store and asked to serve the ancestral temple to serve the empress dowager as his mother."

Soon, Empress Dowager Li issued an edict to first as the "Guanguo" and then act as the acting emperor. The edict cried and said, "...... I have not yet died in my old age, and it is difficult for me to be decayed. I only have to ask the whole world for the decay. (Guanguo) wrote a note to the province, and it was like my mother who saw her and felt deeply in her deep meaning, and she burst into tears."

What a touching scene of mother and son falling in love!

In just one day, the army returned to Tokyo City, and the old left-behind prime minister Dou Guzhen was also very sensible. "The army and all officials went out to greet him and persuaded him to advance."

What happened next was natural:

Guo Wei sent Guo Chongwei to lead 700 cavalry to "welcome" Liu Yun and asked the Grand Tutor Feng Dao to return to Beijing first. At the same time, Guo Wei ordered his direct general Ma Duo to "support soldiers to Xuzhou for inspection" and went to "condolences" to Liu Xin, the governor of Zhongwu.

In Songzhou (now Shangqiu, Henan), Guo Chongwei first respectfully sent the Grand Tutor Feng Dao away, then took out the imperial edict of the Empress Dowager, demoted Liu Yun, who had just been the nominal emperor for a few days, to the Kaifu Advisory Office, and prosecuted the Grand Tutor Shangzhu Kingdom and Xiangyin Gong, and sent troops to strictly guard him.

In this way, the Liu family of the Later Han Dynasty declared its traitor after only four years, which is a very rare thing in the entire Chinese history.
