Chapter 3 Monsters in the Forest

Glen has heard of lizards that eat excrement.

But even if he could get hundreds of evolution points, Gran would never let go of his modesty to taste this damn thing.

Now he only stayed away from this smelly thing.

But he still resisted and approached the excrement. He didn't change his mind and wanted to taste this kind of thing, but he just thought that the person who could leave such a thing might be a monster that could threaten his life.

This thing looked completely cold, and its overall size was several times the size of Gran's. There were also some forest-white bone fragments mixed inside.

.

Glen avoided the excrement and carefully explored forward.

There are monster footprints on the grass in front of the excrement, and the footprints look like maple leaves.

He judged from the footprints that the monster was very large and heavy.

In front of the footprints, there were several broken trees, and there were also monster footprints beside the trees. They were probably broken by it for unknown reasons.

A huge monster with great power, and judging from the shape of its footprints... it might be a dragon.

Gran felt that he was so nervous that his heart was about to pop out. If he hadn't confirmed that the monster was far away, his little lizard heart might have

Directly stagnates here forever.

He had mixed emotions in his heart. Before, he thought this forest was relatively safe, with only those pterosaurs at most.

Only now have we discovered the existence of this kind of monster, which is much scarier than the pterosaur.

Moreover, this monster definitely eats meat and cannot be gentle.

He felt that the monster could crush him to pieces with one kick... No, just crush him into a pulp.

So Gran gave up the exploration. If he continued to explore further, he might find the monster's mouth directly.

He turned around and immediately moved away from the place, and immediately rolled on the dirt.

This time he didn't think about whether he could really cover up the smell, he just felt that he could feel a little at ease.

Then crawl backwards as fast as possible until there is not much strength left.

Then he immediately found a hidden location, dug a hole in the ground, and climbed in to hide himself.

Glen stayed in the crypt, firmly remembering the location where he found the monster's traces, and vowed never to approach that area again.

.

It took him a lot of time to adjust his mental state, and it was already completely dark by then.

Night covers the sky,

Glen couldn't help crawling out of the crypt, crawling onto the grass, and looking at the sky.

Countless stars exude their own dazzling light in the night sky. There are two bright moons hanging at both ends of the night sky, one red and one blue, magnificent and evil.

This is a night scene that Gran is unfamiliar with.

He looked at the night scene and told himself that he could not be swallowed up by despair and confusion. If he stopped moving forward, death would surely be the only thing waiting for him.

At this time, Gran discovered that this body's night vision was pretty good, and he could do some things in the dark.

But he was exhausted physically and mentally, and now he just wanted to take a rest.

He fell asleep with his pillow on the earth and spent his first night in this world.

.

The next morning,

Gran climbed out of the crypt and began today's exploration.

The dew on the grass blades had not yet evaporated completely, so Gran licked the dew with his tongue to replenish moisture.

After replenishing water, he started looking for food to satisfy his hunger.

After discovering traces of the monster yesterday, Gran became a little suspicious.

He was always worried that monsters would jump out from the bushes or shades of trees and crush him to death.

A few small birds could scare Gran for a long time, and he would dig a hole in the ground and crawl into it.

He waited until there was no movement before he dared to poke his little head out of the hole.

After a whole morning like this, I didn't get much food, but my digging skills improved rapidly.

All the food found was mosquitoes, which was unsatisfactory, and the evolution points gained were only 9.

Obviously this body is small, but its appetite is much greater than imagined.

Glenn continued to explore the forest and discovered something strange again.

This is a carcass, it looks a bit scary.

The skeleton was broken into several pieces, and the flesh, blood and internal organs were almost turned into pulp and began to rot.

The corpse of a strong wild boar could only be distinguished from the huge bloody wild boar head next to the meat paste.

Many flies were flying around the corpse, making a buzzing sound.

The little black bird jumped around on the skeleton, poking at the remaining flesh and blood.

The sore and hollow eye sockets of the boar's head were facing Gran, startling him.

He stared at the body in shock.

There's no way a wild boar could end up like this just by falling down. Something must have happened in this place.

Gran plucked up the courage to circle around the corpse, only to find some large shallow footprints.

The footprints looked familiar, both in size and shape, they were very similar to the monster footprints he found yesterday.

The monster has been here, and this wild boar carcass is what it left behind. I'm afraid it's what's left after eating.

Gran was a little dizzy. He didn't expect to encounter the things left by the monster again so soon. He didn't know when the monster would come back and continue eating.

He turned his head to observe the black birds and flying insects perched on the corpse. Then he thought about it and felt that the corpse had begun to rot and it was unlikely that the monster would come back.

The smell of blood drifted into his nose, stimulating Gran's thinking.

Hunger was aroused, followed by greed and recklessness. The instinct of this lizard body was urging him to eat this corpse.

Human concepts make Gran resist scavenging, but the food itself is hard-earned and can satisfy his appetite. I am afraid it can also bring a lot of evolution points.

Unconsciously, Gran crawled a few steps towards the corpse.

I was also worried that the corpse might be infected with disease, and maybe the monster abandoned it here for this reason.

Gran stared at the blackbirds pecking at the flesh, and had the illusion that they were eating very happily.

The feeling of hunger became so strong that he was in a daze, and he crawled towards the corpse step by step.

Then...

The sight of maggots crawling on the putrid and stinky flesh appeared before his eyes.

This was followed by a vision of himself dying from poison after eating carrion.

He stopped.

Prudence, or timidity, temporarily defeated Gran's greed.

He didn't dare to bet on whether he could eat the carrion. Many lizards could eat carrion, but not all.

Human concepts always tell him that eating scavenging is dangerous, and just because he wants to give up his reserve doesn't mean he can really give it up.

Glen has always been a lizard with human memories, not a small beast that can easily eat carrion.

He turned around and crawled in the other direction without looking back, fearing that greed would induce him to eat those corpses again if he stopped.

Gran didn't stop until he felt tired.

Smearing mud to cover up the smell, and then digging a hole in the ground to hide himself have become actions that bring him peace of mind.

He could no longer remember how to get back to the corpse. It would be useless even if he was greedy again, let alone wondering whether the corpse was diseased.

After stopping, Gran noticed that a new panel appeared in the system.

'task bar',

Another way to gain talent.

There is only one task in it, which is called scavenging. The task requirement is to eat a certain amount of carrion, and you can obtain the good of scavenging (R-level talent) and a small amount of evolution points.

It was not explained clearly as a rule, but Gran didn't want to understand, so he didn't do this task.

It may be said that he is willful, but he just doesn't want to do it now and would rather eat other flying insects.

However, the appearance of the taskbar made him calm down a lot, and tasks were also triggered by his actions.

Alas, it would be great if he could have the task of digging a hole or smearing mud on his body. He would never resist, and he would be very interested in doing so.

Glen stayed in the crypt and opened the task bar, imagining humbly.

After half a minute, he felt that he could not go on like this and must improve himself immediately.

He planned to find some insects to fill his stomach, then use those evolution points to extract talents, and then try to 'evolve' for the first time.

Glen came to the woods again. Because he was frightened by the wild boar carcass, he was now extremely wary of everything.

The wind blew through the leaves, leaving behind a rustling sound, which made Gran feel cold all over.

When crawling, the speed of each claw becomes slower. Only when it feels firm can it dare to take the next claw.

He shivered when a bird flew off a branch, and he began to use increasingly sophisticated burrowing skills.

Glen was moving around in the woods like this until he saw a small pterosaur sitting on a tree trunk.
