Chapter 78 The Stupa

In the mountains and in the temple, Wu Sheng stood under the Bodhi tree, looking at the sky.

"It's already this time, why hasn't the sun come out yet? Are you sleeping in?"

Even before the sun came out, the fog refused to dissipate. Strangely enough today, the sun refused to come out. Even at noon, the mountains were still covered in fog.

In the main hall, Kuang sat in front of the Buddha.

"Should we start?"

He raised his head and asked the Buddha who was sitting on the lotus platform. His eyes were full of worry. The Buddha sat quietly without any response.

The heavy fog did not dissipate all day long and remained so until late at night.

That night, in the meditation room, Wu Sheng felt uneasy for no reason. He lay on the bed and couldn't fall asleep. He got up and recited the Heart Sutra several times, but the uneasiness still did not dissipate.

"How is this going?"

Late at night, not long after he fell asleep, he felt the ground beneath him shaking violently. He hurriedly got out of bed and quickly came outside the meditation room.

It was dark outside, and nearby Wu Nu also came out of the meditation room, holding an iron rod in his hand, and the two looked at each other.

"Brother, what's going on?"

"When Master is in retreat, there will be strange movements in Jinding Mountain." Wu Nu said.

"The abnormal movement, will this have any impact?"

"The wild beasts in the mountains will go crazy inexplicably." Wu Nu said.

"Go crazy, is this why the abbot often goes to the mountains to kill those dangerous beasts? It is to eliminate those dangerous factors in advance!" Wu Sheng immediately understood why the abbot would often go around the mountains with a knife.

I want to get rid of those dangerous beasts before they grow up, so as not to cause terrible consequences when they go crazy. After all, rabbits bite people when they are anxious. If the crazy ones are jackals, tigers and leopards, it will be troublesome.

Big!

"When are they going to go crazy?"

"It should be two or three days later, I'm not sure." Wu Nu said while looking at the mountains and forests outside.

"I'm going to see Master." Wu Sheng found that there was no movement in Monk Kong's Zen room.

I went over and knocked on the door, but there was no movement inside. After listening carefully, there was no one inside.

"Master." He called twice, but there was no response from inside. With a slight push and a creak, the door opened, and there was no one in the Zen room.

No one, where did they go?

Soon Wu Sheng found Monk Kong Kong in the main hall. Under the weak candlelight, he was reciting scriptures in a low voice.

"As long as everything is fine." Wu Sheng breathed a sigh of relief.

After such a fuss, they were no longer sleepy. Kong was chanting sutras in the main hall, while Wu Sheng and Wu Nui left the temple directly and wandered around in the forest outside to guard against wild beasts approaching Lanruo Temple.

When he turned to the east side of the temple, Wu Sheng felt a peaceful force, neutral and mellow, which made people feel comfortable and at ease. This force was very familiar and was the power of Buddhism. Wu Sheng looked around and soon found out

Then we found the source of this power, which was a forest of towers on the east side of the hall.

The pagoda forest is the place where the bones of the monks of Lanruo Temple are buried after death. The pagodas in the pagoda forest have different shapes and shapes. The tops of the pagodas are pointed or square, and the sizes of the pagodas are also different. The height of the pagodas also varies.

The difference is that there are one layer, three layers, five layers, and seven layers. They are all in odd numbers. It is probably because the monk is a monk and a solitary person. The number of layers symbolizes the level of Buddhist practice of the monk buried in the bones during his lifetime.

This pagoda forest is surrounded by green pines and cypresses, which are evergreen all year round. This pagoda forest has been neglected for countless years. There are weeds everywhere, even the original roads are blocked. A considerable part of the pagodas are dilapidated due to lack of maintenance, and some are even

has collapsed.

The breeze passed by, and the branches and leaves swayed, as if conveying the enlightenment words of the eminent monk. Wu Sheng looked at the pagoda forest, and could vaguely see that some pagodas seemed to be emitting gleaming brilliance. Wu Sheng once heard Monk Kong Kong mention that these pagodas

In the pagoda, some of the Buddha's bones and relics are buried with eminent monks. After thousands of years, the Buddha's nature is still there, just like the green cypresses and pines around it, evergreen.

Perhaps because of the power of Buddhism, the fog here is actually very light.

Amitabha Buddha, Wusheng, puts his palms together and pronounces the name of the Buddha.

Stand here, concentrate your mind and energy, unite heaven and man, and meditate with a pure heart. Immerse yourself in a remote and quiet atmosphere far away from the world. In an instant, your mind will be calm, clear, and transcendent.

Wu Sheng stood quietly in the forest-like pagoda, reciting scriptures silently in his heart, feeling the remaining Buddhist dharma after the death of all the eminent monks in Lanruo Temple around him. Unknowingly, the sky gradually became brighter.

In the early morning, I looked at the pagoda again. It was still the same, silent but not lonely.

There is no one in the old forest, the sun is cold and the pine trees are green.

Wu Sheng returned to the temple, and after having breakfast, he carried a dark wooden stick and patrolled the forest outside the temple. The fog in the forest had not dissipated, and there were trees blocking it, so the distance he could see was only a few steps away.

There was a faint light coming out of Wu Sheng's eyes, and through the mist, he could see everything in the forest clearly.

Hey, he found a gray wolf appearing in the forest not far away. The wolf also stopped and seemed to have discovered him and looked in his direction.

For some reason, the gray wolf suddenly turned around and ran away with his tail between his legs.

"Stop!" Wu Sheng shouted, taking a few steps and arriving in front of the gray wolf in a moment. The gray wolf was just about to run away when he knocked him down with a stick.

"Why are you running? Do you have something going on in your heart?"

A random stroke of the stick made the gray wolf howl and howl.

"Go back and tell me, stay away from Jinding Mountain." After saying that, he picked up the wolf's hind legs as if lifting a chicken, swung it twice, and threw it out, causing the wolf to squeal.

At noon, the sun finally emerged from behind the clouds, and the gentle sunlight shone on the earth. Although the fog in the mountains had been dispersed somewhat, it was still foggy.

Wu Sheng returned to the temple from the forest and went to look outside the abbot's Zen room. There was no movement inside. He used his magic power and found that there was no sound of anyone breathing in the Zen room. With his current cultivation level, his magic power

He could hear the sound of falling leaves flying within ten feet.

Could it be that something happened to the abbot?

He hurriedly came to the door of the Zen room, stretched out his hand to push the door open, but stopped suddenly.

"The abbot is in a state of seclusion, and he is most averse to outside interference. It would definitely not be good to enter so hastily."

Thinking of this, he turned around and hurried to the main hall, where he found Monk Kong who was still chanting sutras.

"Master, there is no sound or breath in Uncle Abbot's Zen room. He"

"There is also a secret room in the abbot's Zen room, and senior brother abbot is in retreat in the secret room." Kong Kong said.

"Oh, that's it." Wu Sheng breathed a sigh of relief after hearing this. He thought that Abbot Kongkong had an accident! Fortunately, he didn't rush in. This closed life and death gate should be the most undisturbed by outside objects.
