Chapter 7. Ding, bell, bell -(1/2)

Koharu Hosokawa turned to the first page of the manuscript of "The Ring".

Usually the first page of a comic is basically the cover of the comic, and the skill in drawing the cover can also reflect the author's skill in drawing.

And the cover of Midnight Ring...

This is the picture on the overly clean original paper.

Judging from the background, this should be a small Japanese-style room.

In a small, dark and damp Japanese-style room, a TV flashes snowflakes...

The background is black.

In the cold room, only the TV with the snowflake screen exudes bright colors

And with light, people's eyes will unconsciously chase the light.

But the bright color emitted by the TV screen is not warm, but has a cold feeling.

It's like a cool palm sliding down the neck, making people feel cold in their hearts.

Hosokawa Koharu felt goosebumps and nodded secretly in her heart.

The cover is quite exquisitely drawn, and the color matching is also exquisite. The author's painting skills should be quite good.

It seems that the author of "Midnight Bell" still has some quality, and it seems that he is not a half-hearted person. No wonder he dared to write such a big story as "heart disease, epilepsy history".

But just trying to scare the editor... is still too naive.

Hosokawa Koharu thought in his heart, but turned to the next page and began to formally review the plot.

September 5th, Sunday.

In a small box at the top of the manuscript, there is a date like this.

What does this...leaving a date mean?

Hosokawa Koharu doesn't quite understand.

With this question in mind, she continued to look down.

The story begins between Asakawa Tomoko and her friend Tomoko.

Late at night, a fifteen or sixteen-year-old female high school student was in the prime of puberty. The two of them hugged each other and had sex, and from time to time they would tell each other some dirty jokes...

The relatively relaxed atmosphere and the author's painting skills in vividly restoring the characters of "The Ring" made Hosokawa Koharu couldn't help but smile a little.

But soon, Tomoko, who had long hair, turned her head and spoke as if she had just remembered something:

"Speaking of which, have you heard about the recent strange story about video tapes?"

"Video tape ghost story?" Asakawa Yuko, who was originally in a ball with Tomoko, was stunned.

Tomoko knows that Tomoko prefers urban ghost stories, and usually Tomoko will make noises with Tomoko.

But something was different today. Her face suddenly darkened, and she looked a little gloomy and scared.

The cold expression of Asakawa Yuko in this frame is in sharp contrast with the cheerful and smiling expression of Tomoko in the previous frame.

The speed of his facial expression was as if he had suddenly torn off Asakawa Yuko's face and skin, which was all bloody...

This painting technique...

Hosokawa Koharu felt chills running down his spine.

The story continues.

"Yeah. The video tape ghost story." Tomoko nodded, "A high school boy went to Izu Island for vacation with his family. They stayed in an old B&B hotel."

The bed and breakfast hotel is very old, wooden and covered with withered ivy. The hotel is surrounded by lush and cold woods.

Hosokawa Koharu felt as if she had become Tomoko in the story.

Yes...

The comic image pulled... and became three-dimensional.

When Hosokawa Koharu came to her senses again, there was Tomoko sitting in front of her with an excited look on her face.

The other party's voice and expression were all very real, as if you could reach out and touch them.

"That high school boy wanted to go out to play, but he didn't want to miss the program he wanted to watch," Tomoko looked at Hosokawa Koharu and continued excitedly: "So he planned to record the program on the VCR when he went to play.

Come down, but..."

Tomoko spread his hands.

"But there is no TV station in Izu Island using this channel, so nothing should be recorded. But when he was playing the video tape at home, a woman appeared on the channel, and she raised her hand——"

Snapped!

A crisp sound!

Pale fingers! Suddenly raised!

As if she was about to poke Hosokawa Koharu in the face, Tomoko's expression began to twist.

The long black hair began to dance, the red lips twisted, and the smile widened! It was indescribably terrifying! Black eyes sprouted black 'ink'.

"You'll be dead within a week!"

Boom!

An indescribable feeling of fear arose in the heart of Hosokawa Koharu. She rolled down from the office chair in embarrassment, and then Tomoko's figure was slowly pulled back into the manga and disappeared without a trace.

"call..."

Hosokawa Koharu's facial muscles stiffened and she was covered in cold sweat.

She looked at the manuscript in her hand in disbelief.

Above is the expression on Asakawa Yuko's face when she was so frightened by Tomoko that she froze in place.

This sense of immersion is too strong... right?

This feeling of fear seems to squeeze my heart out...

But... I still want to read on!

The more scared I am, the more I want to look down.

It's like being addicted.

I'm scared, but I still want to see it.

Hosokawa Koharu turned down the pages with her fingers shaking.

Tomoko looked a little happy at the stunned Asakawa Yuko.

After all, Tomoko, who heard the ghost stories, was really frightened by the ghost stories she told.

"Later, the boy received a call. The content of the call was only one sentence, 'You saw it.' A week later, the boy died."

Tomoko summarized this strange story and seemed satisfied with Tomoko's reaction.

But soon, she realized something was wrong.

While she couldn't stop laughing, her friend Yuko Asakawa's face became worse and worse.

Only then did Tomoko think of something.

She looked at Yuko Asakawa, and after a while she asked uncertainly: "Tomoko... I remember that you traveled to Izu Island with Iwatari-kun and the others last week, right?"

The atmosphere became tense.

The darkness outside seemed to symbolize some ominous omen.

Tomoko got off the chair and sat on the carpet with Tomoko: "That night, Iwatari-kun found a strange video tape, and we all watched it."

Originally, Tomoko wanted to tell Tomoko with a relaxed smile, but in the end, Tomoko's smile disappeared.

Her eyes were fixed on the table, as if she was lost in memories: "I just remember that as soon as I finished watching the video, the phone rang, and there was no one on the other side of the phone."

Tomoko, who was still smiling at first, couldn't laugh anymore.

She just murmured to herself in a daze, "It's so scary." and then nothing more happened.

"Everyone else has heard this story, and everyone is very scared." Yuko Asakawa turned her head, unable to laugh at all: "Today is a week."

As soon as these words came out, Hosokawa Koharu, who originally thought there was still a week's buffering period, felt a shadow crawling up his back and goosebumps all over his body.

It's as if something invisible is watching you in the dark.

Tomoko in the story was also stunned.

She looked at Tomoko's expression, raised her eyes and then lowered her eyes. After a while, she reluctantly smiled in embarrassment: "You just want to scare me, Tomoko."

silence.

Quiet.

There was no sound in the room.

It was as if even the air had condensed.
