Chapter 14 Weird Scholar

Qinghe County, located around Shushan, is named after a Qinghe River. It is known to outsiders for its pleasant scenery.

In the county town of Qinghe County, there is a street that belongs to the main street in the county town.

On the back of the main street, it is a famous back street. Under a tall sycamore tree, the business of Hongyun Restaurant seems a bit depressed.

There is no way. Although both the main street and the back street are streets, the difference is one word, the fate is completely different.

One person comes and one person is gone, and one door is deserted.

In Hongyun Restaurant, there was only one young man sitting in the lobby drinking tea and a stack of peanuts.

The young man was wearing a white long gown, his hair was casually fixed with a wooden hairpin, and a bright yellow gossip bag was slanted across his body.

His location is just close to the falling branches of the sycamore tree, and you can still smell a faint fragrance.

After patrolling the streets, the county janitor always likes to come here to drink tea, not for anything else, just because it is cheap here.

"Shopkeeper, come and make a pot of cold flower tea."

At this moment, a detective suddenly stepped into the lobby and shouted while walking.

The shopkeeper walked out of the inside and responded, "Okay, Constable Li."

Constable Li found a small table to sit down. This was his favorite position on weekdays. He was closest to the door. Even if something happened outside, he could run out quickly.

Not long after, the shopkeeper brought a pot of tea and came. In small restaurants like them, most shopkeepers ran up and down by themselves.

The shopkeeper is familiar with Constable Li and has known each other for many years. After putting down the tea, the shopkeeper himself sat down.

Seeing the shopkeeper sitting down, Constable Li picked up the tea and poured a cup of himself, and also poured a cup of the shopkeeper.

"How is it? Are the things ready?"

The shopkeeper sighed, with a helpless look on his face, "That's not the case. Naturally, I have to be prepared. I really hope that he won't come today."

This is the weather in the south. The sun is like a stove, always so hot. When you go out and take a walk, you are covered in sweat.

At the entrance of herbal tea, Constable Li hummed comfortably and asked again.

"If he doesn't come today, wouldn't that be better?"

"My mother, I hope he won't come. Every time I see him, I feel panic." The shopkeeper looked bitter.

There are not many restaurants on the street, and the dishes at Hongyun Restaurant are delicious, especially a few dishes are even more unique.

They are ginger-burned duck, pepper rabbit, loofah frog, bean sprout fish and braised pig's trotters.

It is precisely because the taste is very good that even if it is on the back street and is a little remote, it can still be managed and has some surplus food.

It was nothing at all, but a strange guest suddenly came a few days ago, making the shopkeeper feel like he was facing a great enemy.

This customer is packed and taken away every day and will never be dine in.

Moreover, he must order these five signature dishes from their restaurant, and there are still requirements.

Don’t have ginger for the ginger duck, don’t have ginger for the rabbit, don’t have ginger for the loofah frog, don’t have bean sprouts for the bean sprouts, just order braised pig’s trotters normally, don’t have star anise and fennel.

If you just look at it this way, the people who come to buy food don’t seem to be here to eat, but they seem to be here to smash the signboard.

The man paid the money and took the food and left. He was definitely unwilling to stay too much, and he didn't seem to be looking for trouble.

Constable Li has experienced more than the shopkeeper, so he is naturally more courageous than him. He knows that there is something wrong with the customer's affairs.

"Okay, look at your success. We have never seen anything. We are full of righteousness and are not afraid of those monsters."

The shopkeeper was about to say something, but suddenly glanced at the extremely familiar figure at the door, and his body slid down instantly, as if he was sucking his muscles and bones, as if he was angry.

"He, he's here, he's here really."

As soon as he finished speaking, a young man dressed as a scholar appeared at the door.

He was wearing a white long gown, his face looked bloodless, but there was a blush on each cheek, with some abnormal blood redness, but his eyes seemed to have no spirit. After being frozen in a certain place, he stopped moving.

As he approached, a mute voice came from under his feet, creaking.

The person who came was very thin, had no extra meat on his body, his clothes were very thin, and his walking posture was very stiff, like a scarecrow in a rice field, without a drop of sweat on his body.

It was clear that the sun was shining outside, but after the scholar came in, the temperature in the entire lobby dropped a lot. The shopkeeper immediately clamped his legs and felt a urge to urinate, and he felt that he couldn't help but want to let the water go.

"Shopkeeper, don't want ginger, don't want ginger, and don't want ginger..." The scholar spoke, his voice sounded quite nice, like a clear spring.

However, after he spoke, he was very close to his face, and his mouth shape seemed to be incompatible.

This makes me even more panicked.

The shopkeeper avoided the scholar's gaze and pointed to the small table on the left, which was a food box on it.

"Everything is ready, it's still hot, and nothing you shouldn't have to put, you can just take it."

The scholar paused, as if he was choking by the shopkeeper's actions. He turned his head barefoot, looked at the food box on one side, and moved slowly.

After lifting the food box, the scholar took out a piece of silver from his arms, put it on the small table, turned around and walked out.

When he reached the door, he stopped and said, "I'm sorry, the shopkeeper."

"Don't be polite, go slowly." The shopkeeper waved his hand quickly.

Constable Li shuddered, approached the shopkeeper, and whispered, "Hey? Don't say, this person's face looks very abnormal, similar to the paper-made person sold by Lao Zhang's coffin shop on the next street. Tsk tsk tsk tsk, especially the cheek, it looks more like."

The shopkeeper suddenly ran out without saying a word.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Captain Li shouted quickly.

"I'm anxious to pee." The shopkeeper's voice gradually faded away.

Captain Li looked helpless and added another cup of tea to himself, turned his head and looked to the front left.

But as soon as the tea was in his mouth, Captain Li squirted it out.

If he remembered correctly, a young man in a white long gown sat not far away, but why did he disappear in the blink of an eye?

He clearly didn't hear anyone walking!

It wasn't his hallucination. There was still hot tea on the table, but the peanuts had been eaten.

Could it be that the scholar just now and the young man sitting behind were not human?

Captain Li was shocked and sweated in a cold sweat. He quickly took a few mouthfuls of tea, threw the tea money on the table, and left quickly.

......

After the scholar came out of Hongyun Restaurant, he carried the food box in his right hand and slowly walked out of the city.

I don’t know if the scholar was too weak, but the food box forced his whole body to tilt to the right, shaking, for fear that he would be blown down by a gust of wind.

After about half an hour left, the scholar walked into a dilapidated temple.

"I'm back." The scholar spoke.

Yu Luo, he put the food box on the altar and opened it, served the dishes one by one, and then stood aside honestly.

"You're finally back, I'm about to starve to death. Hurry up, give it to me, tsk tsk tsk, it smells so good."

The sound is a bit unaware of, but it sounds extremely comfortable.

Following the sound source, except for the scholar, I did not see anyone, and I don’t know where the sound came from.
