Chapter 12 The Dilemma of the Rookie Director
"Shit! This is simply not feasible."
Chen Tian cursed softly, the monitor was not the same feeling as he needed, and it could be said that it was much worse than the movie "Burning Live" in his mind.
Wan Ziren, who was standing by, had the same idea. The picture inside the monitor was too bad, but this was not just because of Scarlett Johnson's performance, but more because of the use of the camera.
"Let's rest for ten minutes first!" After Wen Ziren said that, he walked towards the coffin that was parked not far away. There was no need to have a leak at this moment, so the coffin was placed on the ground instead of in the sand.
There was no one else in the entire crew except him, Chen Tian and starring Scarlett Johnson.
The workers on the battlefield looked at this outrageously simple crew from afar. They really didn't believe that such crew could make a movie. In their opinion, this was the idea that a rich child had a fever in his head.
Scarlett Johnson, who was dressed in rags, walked out of the coffin. If Chen Tian’s script touched her, then she would feel extremely regretful after coming here.
She has never seen such a simple crew since she remembers. She has no lighting artist, no stylist, no venue, and even her own styling and makeup. This crew only has Chen Tian, the director and screenwriter, and another Chinese who is barely considered as an assistant director.
"Wen, what's the problem? Is it my acting problem? Where does it need improvement?" Scarlett glanced at Chen Tian, who lowered his head after looking at the monitor, turned his head to look at Wen Ziren and asked.
"No, this is not the main thing, it's the camera problem. Don't worry, we will solve it. Let's take a break first, there is water there." After Wen Ziren said that, he walked towards Chen Tian.
Like Chen Tian, he never expected that the filming would be so difficult, and the filming of the film has just begun.
Chen Tian thought about the photography skills he had learned and how to use the camera in a closed space Chen Tian learned it.
But he has never been so narrow that he has taken pictures in a space that only accommodates one person. Even if the coffin is placed in the camera slide, four cameras can work at the same time to find the best lens, it seems that the imaging effect is far from enough in the monitor.
"What should I do?" Chen Tian patted his cheek. He had studied this video more than ten times. He once thought it was just like this, but he didn't expect it to be what he thought.
"I have to give up at the beginning and choose another one?" This thought came to Chen Tian's mind.
Chen Tian was stunned for a moment. He didn't expect that he had just had difficulties and thought of giving up: "Is this still the same me as before? I don't believe it, I can't solve it."
He raised his head and Scarlett was sitting on a chair drinking water.
Scarlett was the most ordinary blue worker uniform, and this uniform was not brand new. For the sake of shooting, the uniform was covered with oil and dirt, just like a piece of clothing picked out from the garbage dump.
The clothes were filled with a pungent smell. Chen Tian and Wen Ziren couldn't stand this smell when they were just done, but Scarlett did not complain but changed into this uniform that might not even beggars would want to wear without hesitation.
The long hair tied up was also covered in dust, and it was like a beggar who had been lying in the garbage dump and the roadside for a long time.
It has been three hours since the official filming was officially taken at 3 pm. Chen Tian only completed the first few minutes of "Buried Live".
There was no image of the person in the first few minutes. The entire shot presented to the audience was pitch black, and it made heavy noises in the darkness, accompanied by a rough friction sound.
Chen Tian was not particularly satisfied with these few minutes. He always felt that he was missing something. Even if he sounded, he could feel the deep fear and struggle of this woman in the darkness.
Chen Tian has passed this section for the time being and is ready to wait until it is processed later before seeing if it needs a reshoot.
Wen Ziren smiled helplessly at Chen Tian, who was staring at Scarlett not far away, with his head raised and staring at Scarlett in a daze.
Chen Tian didn't know what Wen Ziren thought of him. After thinking for a while, there was still no good idea in his mind. Chen Tian decided to come here first today, even if he wanted to shoot his first work as soon as possible.
He knew that impatient cannot solve the problem, so he might as well go back and take a shower and have a meal and think about how to solve this biggest dilemma.
"We will be here first today and continue tomorrow. To thank everyone for their hard work, I will treat you later?" Chen Tian said as he stood up, but was startled by Wen Ziren, who was smiling maliciously beside him.
"Why do you look so mean?"
"Is there any? Maybe you're overthinking." Wen Ziren patted Chen Tian's shoulder, "I'll clean up, maybe we can solve it tomorrow and complete the shooting task smoothly."
"That's certain." Chen Tian said with a smile.
"I won't take pictures today?" After hearing Chen Tian's words, Scarlett stood up, and with mineral water, she walked towards Chen Tian in the sunset.
"Yes, I won't shoot it today for the time being. I'll be eight o'clock tomorrow morning, oh no, I'll continue at nine o'clock."
"But we're just starting out. Is it because I'm not acting well? Or is it your own problem." Scarlett frowned. The mud on her face and clothes that were comparable to those of a beggar were not as good as a goddess.
"If it's my problem, I hope you will make improvements. If it's your own problem, I hope you solve it as soon as possible. I believe this is a good script and it will be the next one, but I don't want a good script to be unable to make a good movie in the end."
Feeling that what I said might be a bit sharp, Scarlett eased his mood: "Sorry, I just don't want such a good script..."
"I understand what you want to say, I'll get it all done and won't waste its value. Now it's off-duty time what do you want to eat?"
"No, I'll solve it myself."
"It's okay, let's go together, you can agree to the filming and it's been a big help for me, not to mention that this is the first day. I think it's necessary for me to reward the employees as the director, screenwriter and boss." Before Scarlett refused Chen Tian and turned toward Wen Ziren, who cleaned up the equipment.
"I already regret it's here to help you." Wen Ziren joked while removing the camera.
"Is that so? I think you are very happy. What do you want to eat later? Don't be polite, just treat it as your salary."
"Oh, you stingy." Wen Ziren punched Chen Tian.
After packing up, Scarlett's face and hair were washed, but her clothes were still dirty and blue uniforms with a pungent gasoline smell.
Just as he walked to the bus platform, Wen Ziren suddenly patted his thigh: "By the way, damn I actually forgot that I promised my wife to go back and have dinner with her, so..."
"you…………"
"I'm really sorry, my bus is here, I'll leave first, I'll arrive on time tomorrow, sorry." Wen Ziren greeted Scarlett and ran quickly to the stopping bus, "You must have a good time."
Chen Tian and Scarlett didn't expect that Wan Ziren would suddenly come out like this, and the atmosphere between Chen Tian and Scarlett on the platform suddenly became awkward.
