Poison or starting point?

Some readers, as soon as they read the two chapters of "United Front" and "Cage-in-Cage", they felt that the author was slandering and said: How could Li Zicheng negotiate with Chongzhen? Author, please don't talk nonsense with your eyes closed, okay!

Because I can't stand this "toxic point", reading this becomes the end point.[]

The author is not making a fool of himself about the abdication, and it is really based on some reason.

Unofficial history records: On March 18, 2018, Li Zicheng besieged Beijing and sent eunuch Du Xun, who surrendered in Changping to the city to negotiate secretly with Chongzhen. According to Volume 4 of "Xiao Chi Chronicle Examination", Li Zicheng proposed the conditions as follows: "The people and horses of the treasury are strong, and they will discuss the severance of the kings in the northwest and reward the army of one million, and retreat to Henan... After the treasury was granted the title, he is willing to curb the enemy in the court, and especially use strong troops to help suppress the Liao vassals. However, he did not obey the imperial edict and listen to the court." Chongzhen refused-------

In Yao Xueying's novel "Li Zicheng", this is the passage about Li Zicheng accepting Du Xun's advice to Chongzhen to abdicate:

Niu Jinxing bowed and said, "When he was resting in Shahe Town today, Du Xun once told me that he was willing to go into the city tomorrow to meet Chongzhen and persuade Chongzhen to give way, but he asked His Majesty not to kill Chongzhen and his relatives and treat him with kindness."

Li Zicheng asked Song Xiance: "Does the military advisor know about this?"

Song Xiance said: "The Chief said to me that I also asked Du Xun at that time, and it was true that Du Xun was indeed loyal to the new dynasty and had no intention of deceiving Your Majesty."

"Will Chongzhen kill him?"

"I also took this as a concern, but Du Xun said that he was willing to take the disaster of his life and wanted to go to the palace to work hard to give way to Chongzhen."

"Qidong, is this feasible?"

"I think you might as well give it a try. If Du Xun was killed, he would just die a eunuch who surrendered to me, and it would not hurt me. If Du Xun saw Chongzhen's successful persuasion, then Your Majesty could abdicate the world after his success, which is also a great reputation for eternity."

"Okay, let Du Xun see me tonight!"

-------

Li Zicheng looked at Niu Jinxing and others and said, "You are tired of being saddled and horses all day long, and you are covered in dust. Now you are back to your base to rest. Since Du Xun is willing to go into the city to persuade Chongzhen to give way, I think this is a big deal, so you might as well give it a try.

-------

"Du Xun, Gu just heard Prime Minister Niu say that you are willing to go into the palace to persuade Chongzhen to give way, but is it true?"

"Yes, Emperor. If Chongzhen was willing to give way, one would be the emperor who would be bowed and gain the reputation of the world, and the other would be the subjects in the capital who could be spared from the suffering of war."

"Do you think Chongzhen is willing to give way? If he is willing to give way, he will not only protect him from death, but will also treat him with kindness and be rich for generations. Do you want him to give way?"

"Now Chongzhen is trapped in the empty city, isolated and helpless, and there is no one available to the government and the country. If he does not give up his throne, he will suffer the disaster of national destruction. Even if he gives up his throne, he will save his life and enjoy wealth and honor. I was originally a close minister of Emperor Chongzhen. As long as he can enter the palace, meet his old master, reveal his interests and exhort him, he will let Emperor Chongzhen know that His Majesty is virtuous and kind, and he will return to the world. It is very good that he can listen to the advice, and if he does not obey, he will not miss His Majesty the attacker. Moreover, when he goes to the city, he can also tell the eunuchs to know the situation, move them to the city for good and good fortune, and persuade them to open the door and present the city to welcome His Majesty."

Li Zicheng thought to himself: "This guy is really good at speaking!" Then he looked at Du Xun and asked:

"I heard that Chongzhen was stubborn and violent in his life, and he killed his ministers at will. Do you go and persuade him to give way, and aren't you afraid that he will kill you?"

"I have a younger brother and nephew's family living in Beijing. When Emperor Chongzhen was angry, he would not only kill me, but also kill me. However, the ancients said: 'If you don't enter the tiger's den, how can you get a tiger's son?' I am determined to work hard for Your Majesty, and you will be famous for your Majesty's favor. I am willing to take the disaster of shattering my bones and killing my family. I will never refuse."

"When are you going to enter the city?"

"I will enter the palace at Si AM tomorrow morning. No matter what the result of the persuasion, I will definitely come back in the afternoon. If there is no news about me tomorrow afternoon, I will be killed by Emperor Chongzhen. Please ask Your Majesty to attack the city in large numbers."

"Okay, go into the city. Tomorrow afternoon, I will wait for your reply."

After Du Xun kowtowed and withdrew, Li Zicheng finally felt strange about why Du Xun was so willing to kill himself, so he asked Niu, Song and others:

"Mingyue Du Xun went to the palace to persuade Chongzhen to give way, how much hope is there to succeed?"

Song Xiance replied: "In the eyes of me, Chongzhen is not a weak person. If he cannot escape from Beijing, he will have no way to restore his country. He will commit suicide to the country and give way to the country without fear of death."

-------

The above is written in Yao Xueying's "Li Zicheng".

In addition, Li Zicheng's "The Edict of the Supreme Edict" also said: "The king is not very dark, but he is isolated and has many sects; his ministers do everything in private, but he is less loyal than the party." - This means:

In fact, Chongzhen was not a foolish person, but later he was a commander, and there were people everywhere around him who were eating and waiting to die; the ministers were all concerned about making money and returning his mother to form cliques for personal gain. Even if the people loyal to Chongzhen were not extinct, they were basically endangered animals!

In history, Li Zicheng captured the crown prince and was also named King of Song. Later, he was defeated and did not kill the three princes.

Li Zicheng is not a political idiot. He can stretch and bend, so he can't underestimate him too much. Unfortunately, his subordinates can't recruit any top talents. Some say that Li Yan (Li Xin) is fictional. Because Li Zicheng is unorthodox, scholars with abilities are not defeated when he rebelled, and the group of strategists under his command are all crooked. In addition, Li Zicheng easily took Beijing, and he didn't know what his surname was, so he underestimated the Tartars.

But after all, Li Zicheng is a politician. What would he do if Chongzhen is arrested? Kill it with one knife? An emperor is just like that. It's a waste. This is not in line with the purpose of maximizing interests!

There is a joke that the Standing Committee discussed project allocations, one was an educational project and the other was a detention center renovation. The opinions were very unconsistent at the beginning. Later, a leader said that at our age, we have no chance to go to school, but it is difficult to guarantee that we will not go to the detention center on a day. I think it is possible. As a result, the detention center is fully approved.

Li Zicheng doesn’t think about himself, but also thinks about future generations! Who can guarantee that his descendants will not be caught?

-------

Haha, if the "abdication link" set by this book is a poisonous point, the whole book will lose its starting point.

(Note: The part about the Chongzhen written by Yao Xueying in writing "Li Zicheng" is said to be quite verified. At that time, Li Zicheng was hailed as a peasant leader who was justified in rebellion. It is natural to write about this sensitive abdication.)
