Chapter 98: Silent Sorrow

Most of the children in Jack Manor are orphans, but some are not.

They have either been abused, trafficked by humans, or were abandoned by their parents because of their natural disability.

These various reasons have made them experience things that ordinary children have never experienced, and also made them understand the cruelty of this world in advance and become mature early.

So they are different from ordinary children. Most of them are already damaged, both in their bodies and in their souls.

These children have been abandoned and abandoned in the corner of no one.

It was Jack who brought them back and when he met them, he smiled and stretched out his hand at them.

In the eyes of children, Jack Manor and Misty are different.

The fog in the fog capital is enough to make everyone in it feel like the world is blurred.

Everything in Jack Manor is clearly visible because everything is close to you, the warm bed, the delicious food, the brothers and sisters lying beside you when you fall asleep, and Jack's warm good night.

All people and things are so close that for the first time these things that were so far away from them became so within reach.

If Jack Manor was a dream in this cold world, no child would want to wake up, and they wanted to sleep for a long time.

The first child adopted by Jack was called Claude. He couldn't remember where he came from, because he had been wandering on the streets of the fog capital for as long as he could remember, making a living by searching for garbage.

He can't remember his parents, his hometown, and where he comes from, but he always remembers one thing.

It was one night, and he was sitting next to the trash can on Third Street eating a thrown bread.

A man stood in front of him, he raised his head and saw a smile, a smile that no one had ever shown to him, gentle and kind.

He met Jack that night, and he remembered that day because he regarded that day as his new life.

Claude likes reading books, and Jack bought him a lot of books, even enough to fill a small library, his room was filled with bookshelf and books filled with bookshelf.

Jack once told Claude that if he wanted, he would send him to the best school.

But Claude just shook his head, he wanted to stay in this home.

In addition to reading books, Cloud's favorite thing is to share his books with his younger brothers and sisters.

Although these little guys are always playful and will mess up his study, he never gets angry because he is their elder brother.

······

Emma is Jack's first disabled child adopted by her, a girl with chestnut hair and some small freckles on her face which makes her look cute.

But she has no feet and can only sit in a wheelchair all year round, so she can't play with her brothers and sisters.

At the beginning, she would always sit quietly by the side, staring at other children in a daze.

One day, she used all her courage to make a request to Jack, and she wanted to learn piano.

She was so nervous at that time because Jack had given her too much, making her ashamed of her desire.

But Jack did not reject her. In Emma's unbelievable eyes, he bought the best piano for her and invited the best piano teacher.

From that day on, there will always be piano sounds in Jack Manor, from bumpy to melodious and moving.

Jack would always say that Emma's piano sound was better than any pianist he had ever heard of. He liked to drink coffee and listen to Emma's piano, and Emma's happiest thing was playing music for Jack and her family.

Whenever she presses the keys and looks at the smiles of her family, she will feel extremely happy, the kind of happiness that she can't help but want to cry.

······

Joseph likes to draw. He has painted many paintings, such as Claude who reads under the tree, Emma in front of the piano, Lily holding a doll, and Jack who drinks coffee. His paintings are always very real, because every time, he will carefully draw every detail without any mistakes. He cherishes everything in front of him, so he wants to remember it with his own painting.

Joanna likes to dance, her dance is the most beautiful and elegant. Jack once gave her a dress. Every festival or family party, Joanna would wear that dress to dance with Jack.

That dress is her most precious thing. Every time she wears it, she will carefully take it back into the gift box, and even her younger brothers and sisters cannot touch it.

Ander likes to play football and explore. He is a restless child. If there is any trouble at home, he will basically do it.

Anna is Ande's sister. They used to wander together, so it's the same now. She likes to follow Ande the most, although this quiet and weak little girl is always made to cry by the clumsy Ande.

Philes is a precocious little guy.

Mona likes to swing the swing the most.

······

This is a complete home, in this white manor, but it is composed of incomplete people.

······

In front of the window, the children looked outside and their eyes stopped.

"Bang!"

With the sound of his body, Jack's body was like a piece of rag, and was knocked out by a black figure, knocked down the gate of the manor, and fell into the grass in the yard.

He had no room for resistance at all.

Originally, this was enough to kill Jack directly, but at the last moment, Jack blocked Chu's fist with the short knife in front of his chest.

But even so, the bones on his chest were still completely broken, and he could feel that his consciousness began to become drowsy.

He was completely impossible to be Chu's opponent, he was going to die, he knew.

But he was not afraid of death. From the first day he became a killer, he was prepared to die. He just regretted that he wanted to die where he least wanted to die.

Jack raised his eyes and saw the manor looking at his children through the window.

"cough."

He coughed heavily, and the blood he coughed out dyed his chest red with his broken internal organs.

She first stepped past the collapsed gate and walked to Jack's side. She raised her hand, and the black evil gradually condensed into a long knife.

"No one will be injured except me, right?" Jack's gray eyes became cloudy, but he still used all his strength to ask Chu.

There was a little begging in his tone.

"No." Chu gave a faint answer, stood in front of Jack, and raised his sword.

The sun is dazzling, and under the sun, the black figure looks even more dazzling.

Jack fell to the ground powerlessly, blood flowed from the corners of his mouth, and his consciousness gradually broke away from his body.

People say that in the last few seconds before death, people will look back on their lives.

And Jack found that in his last life, all he thought about was the peaceful afternoons he had spent with his children, and there was nothing else to review in his life.

"You said you would take my sin, then what is my sin?"

Descending to the ground, Jack asked his last question softly, for his own sinful life.

In this city without rules, he just survives in his own way, even if his way is disgusting.

In front of him, Chu paused for a moment, was silent, and could not give an answer.

"I'm sorry, I forgot." Jack looked at Chu, his eyes were dull, and a bitter smile appeared on the corner of his mouth, without any other meaning, just bitterness.

"You seem to be like me, you are just people who can only kill people..."

"Puchi!"

The long sword in Chu's hand fell and pierced Jack's heart.

As the children watched, she killed their hope in a pool of blood.

Blood flowed out, sank the green grass and penetrated into the soil.

After a long time, I looked up and looked at the children in the manor.

She could see the tears of despair flowing from their dull eyes.

Everything was silent, no one cried, no one begged for mercy, no one wailed.

But this silent silence is so sad, tearing everyone's heart.

Chu pulled out the knife, and the blade dripped with blood. She turned around without saying a word and left slowly.

From this beauty that she destroyed.
