Chapter 52 Deathly Hallows(1/2)

"The name of this story is "The Legend of the Three Brothers". It is widely circulated in the wizarding world, and almost every child in a wizarding family has heard their parents tell it before going to bed.

Because of this, there are many versions of this story.

But its general meaning has never changed.

The story goes that once upon a time there were three brothers who were on their way, and it was almost dawn.

As they walked, their way was suddenly blocked by a large river.

The river is wide and the current is so fast that it is impossible to cross it using ordinary methods.

Fortunately, the three brothers are all very outstanding wizards.

They used exquisite magic and constructed a bridge on the river in an instant.

When they reached the center of the river, a hooded figure blocked their way.

That's the God of Death!

She was very angry because the three brothers were supposed to drown in the river, but they used magic to make the God of Death lose three sacrifices.

The cunning god of death did not show his anger.

She pretended to congratulate the three brothers on their success, saying that they had passed the test given by the God of Death, and wanted to give each of them a reward.

The boss is a warlike man, so he asked Death for the most powerful wand in the world!

The second child was an arrogant person. He saw through the insincerity of the God of Death and decided to continue humiliating her. So he asked for a stone that could bring people back to life!

As for the third child, he is a truly smart man.

The reward he seeks is an invisibility cloak that will prevent Death from finding him forever.

The three brothers successfully received the reward, successfully crossed the river, and went their separate ways to their designated destinations.

But after that, the boss died.

He defeated one opponent after another with the most powerful magic wand in the world!

Try your best to show off your strength and achievements to the world!

But this showing off also attracted the attention of thieves and robbers.

Finally, one moonless night, another power-hungry wizard crept into the room, stole the wand, and slit his throat.

This is how Death received its first sacrifice.

The second child could not escape the bad luck.

After parting with his brothers, he returned to his home alone, took out the stone that could bring people back to life, and turned it three times in his hand according to the instructions of the God of Death.

A surprising scene appeared!

The girl he wanted to marry but unfortunately died young appeared in front of him.

But she was sad and indifferent, and there seemed to be a veil between them, and they could never get what they asked for.

In the end, the second child was tortured by hopeless longing and went crazy, and committed suicide in order to reunite with his lover.

Death received a second sacrifice.

Of course! The third child is also dead!

However, the third child did not die due to conspiracy.

The God of Death has been looking for him for many years, but with the help of the invisibility cloak, Lao San prevented the God of Death from finding him.

It wasn't until the third child's lifespan reached the limit that he passed the invisibility cloak to his son.

Then greet death like an old friend.

The third child is not a sacrifice to the God of Death, they are equal."

After the story was told, Dumbledore looked very tired.

Snape, on the other hand, looked calm.

It was obvious that he had heard this story before.

John subconsciously took out the Gaunt ring and stared at the black gemstone inlaid on it.

"You mean...this stone is the one in the story..."

"Yes, it's the stone that can bring people back to life." Dumbledore nodded and said, "People generally call it the Resurrection Stone. It has been there since the second of the three Peverell brothers committed suicide.

It is spread in the magic world. But almost everyone who has used it has died violently."

John took a deep breath and said:

"Then those three figures we saw last night were your family members?"

"To be precise, they are my deceased family members." Dumbledore said with a soft expression, staring at the Resurrection Stone in John's hand with nostalgia, "They are my father, my mother, and my little sister - Ariana.

You ask me why I ignored such an obvious trap and couldn't wait to put on the ring.

The reason is that I long to meet my family.

My sweet little sister Ariana has been shrouded in pain her whole life.

When she was six years old, three Muggle boys did very terrible things to her because she accidentally revealed her magical abilities in front of Muggles.

At this point, she developed a fear of magic and began to desperately suppress the magic in her body, turning herself into an Obscurus - a powerful and unstable black magic called the Obscurus that resides in her body.

This made her miserable and short-lived.

My father attacked the three Muggle boys in order to avenge Ariana.

This also led to him being arrested by the Ministry of Magic for violating the Statute of Secrecy and sent to Azkaban, where he died tragically.

My mother, in order to prevent Ariana from being imprisoned in St. Mungo's for lifelong treatment in the dark, she took me, my brother and Ariana to hide in Godric's Hollow, concealing the truth of the matter and cutting off all contact with old friends.

.

But while she was taking care of Ariana, she was killed because of the Obscurus riot in Ariana's body.

At this point, the responsibility of taking care of my brother and sister fell on me."

Dumbledore's expression suddenly turned sad.

His body twisted uneasily, and his expectant eyes were fixed on the Resurrection Stone in John's hand, as if he wanted to take it away.

"Dumbledore!"

As Snape spoke, he stood up with a serious expression and held his shoulders.

"Oh! Severus, look, I'm always like this." Dumbledore's eyes regained some clarity and he laughed at himself, "I'm very selfish, lack self-discipline, and easily be fooled by desires. Therefore, I need it all the time.

Someone else reminds me. If no one reminds me, I will make a big mistake.

Just like before.

I had just graduated from Hogwarts at the time.

I have talent, I am excellent. I want to stand out. I want to shine.

But Ariana is like a kite string, holding me tightly, preventing me from flying high!

Of course! And my naughty brother.

I love them, I love my parents, I love my younger brothers and sisters!

But I was also full of resentment and pain, thinking that I was trapped, needing to spend my time caring for a disabled sister and a wayward brother.

Just then, he came...

Grindelwald!

You can't imagine how his thoughts attracted and inspired me. The Muggles were forced to surrender, and we wizards were elated. Grindelwald and I are the glorious young leaders of this revolution.

I had some concerns, but I comforted my conscience with empty words. Everything was for the greater good, and any harm caused could bring a hundredfold benefit to the wizarding world.

The Deathly Hallows are the key to the plan!

How they fascinated him, how they fascinated us both!

The wand that never loses, the weapon that gives us power!

The Resurrection Stone - to him it means the army of the Inferi, but I pretend not to know!

For me, I admit, it meant the return of my parents from the dead, relieving me of all responsibilities.

There is also the invisibility cloak... to be honest, our interest in it is far less than the first two, after all, we can be invisible without relying on it.

The reason why I wanted to find it at that time was because the invisibility cloak can be used to protect and cover others. I thought that maybe I could use it to hide Ariana.

There is also a legend that says that the person who possesses three things at the same time is the real conqueror of death, which we understand to mean "invincible".

The invincible conquerors of death, Grindelwald and Dumbledore!

What a beautiful fantasy!

Two smart, arrogant teenagers set out on a journey with the same obsession!

For two whole months, we were obsessed with looking for traces of the Deathly Hallows, ignoring the only two people left in the family who needed my care.
