Chapter 258 Fear of Ollivander(1/2)

Rita Skeeter had great respect for Crouch.

She immediately put the quill and parchment into her handbag, smiled and said to Crouch:

"Mr. Crouch, you really know how to joke! It just so happens that my interview here is similar, so go ahead."

Crouch nodded to Rita Skeeter and quickly brought John and Harry out.

Only then did John realize that those chairs were already full of people.

Madame Maxime and Karkaroff were talking to Fudge.

Bagman was waiting beside him, serving tea and water.

Dumbledore was winking at John.

"Please allow me to introduce Mr. Ollivander." After John and Harry sat down, Dumbledore said to the warriors, "He will check your wands to make sure they are in good condition before the game."

An old wizard with two big light-colored eyes waved at them.

John recognized this guy.

He and Michelle bought their first wands at Ollivander's.

Ollivander walked to the open space in the center of the room and said with a smile:

"Miss Delacour, you come first, okay?"

Fleur stepped forward with light steps and handed over her wand.

"Um--"

Ollivander pondered.

He kept turning the wand on its tip like a pen.

Along with his movements, the wand sprayed out many pink and gold sparks.

Then he brought the wand close to his eyes again and looked at it carefully.

"Very good." He whispered, "Nine and a half inches... very strong, made of maple wood, and inside... wow!"

"Contains a Veela hair," Fleur said. "It's my grandma's hair."

As soon as these words came out, the eyes of everyone present instantly focused on Fu Rong.

Bagman even whistled loudly and frivolously.

This move caused Madame Maxime to roll her eyes.

"Don't look at me like this, I'm just paying tribute to Miss Delacour's grandfather. He is a brave man!" Bagman said hurriedly, "Although there are many people who are willing to date Veela, but those who are really willing to marry them

Not many people go home, after all, it’s so…”

"Shut up!"

Under Mrs. Maxim's scolding, Bagman tightly covered his mouth.

At this time, Fu Rong blushed and lowered her head.

The atmosphere at the scene was a bit awkward.

Ollivander deliberately coughed twice before saying:

"It's in very good condition and suits you well. Now, it's Mr. Krum's turn."

Krum walked over listlessly, put the wand into Ollivander's hand, then frowned, put his hands in his pockets and waited.

"If I'm not mistaken, this is a Gregovich product."

Ollivander looked at the wand in his hand and said, "He is an excellent wandmaker, although I am not very fond of his style...but...hornbeam wood, containing the heart tendons of a dragon, is better than the common wandmaker."

The wand is thicker and stiffer... the birds are flocking!"

The hornbeam wand made a loud bang, like a pistol firing, and a flock of birds flapped their wings and flew out from the wand head, flying out of the open window into the dull sunlight.

"The power is quite powerful, but the controllability is not enough. It's not bad at the moment." Ollivander curled his lips and said, "Next, Mr. Diggory!"

Cedric had been waiting aside for a long time, and when he saw this, he hurried forward to greet him.

Now Ollivander finally had a smile on his face.

Because he made Cedric's wand.

He excitedly introduced the advantages and disadvantages of this wand, using more space than Fleur and Krum combined before.

Then the wands handed over by Michelle and Harry made him even more delighted.

He enthusiastically recounted the time when Harry and Michelle went to his shop to pick out wands.

John must admit that Ollivander's memory is indeed very strong.

He remembered almost every wand he sold, and their owners.

In Ollivander's telling, Michelle is a complete genius.

She was approved by almost all the wands in the store, but in the end she chose the alder wand at the beginning because the flower-like wood grain on the handle of this wand was very beautiful.

This story made Michelle a little embarrassed, while Fudge and others laughed.

Of course, most of these laughs are well-intentioned.

Normal people generally don't dislike a cute, simple and kind girl like Michelle.

And after the laughter, it was John's turn.

With a smile on his face, he took the lead in passing over the original blackthorn wand.

"Another masterpiece of mine!" Ollivander said happily, "Thirteen inches long, moderately elastic, made of blackthorn wood, and the core of the staff is the heart nerve of a dragon."

Ollivander turned his wand, causing golden sparks to burst out from the tip.

"It's very well maintained. It can be seen that you have always taken good care of it."

Ollivander spoke and returned the wand to John.

At this moment, Dumbledore suddenly said:

"John, I remember you still have a wand."

John glanced at Dumbledore.

Ollivander was surprised and said:

"And? I don't remember him buying a second wand from me!"

"But that's the fact." Dumbledore smiled, "and he uses the second wand significantly more frequently than the first blackthorn wand."

Ollivander's doubtful eyes turned to John again.

John nodded helplessly and said:

"Yes, that's true. Because I think that wand is more convenient."

"This is impossible!"

Ollivander said angrily, "The blackthorn wand I gave you is definitely the most suitable for you! How can there be a wand in this world that you feel more comfortable using? Quick! Show me!"

John took a deep breath and slowly took out the nun's wand.

Ollivander held it in his hand and observed it carefully.

As time went by, the original angry look on his face gradually disappeared.

Instead, there was an expression of surprise, or horror.

"It's the same thirteen inches long, but the material is black walnut, and the core is fire dragon horn... You're right, John, this wand is indeed better."

As Ollivander spoke, he handed the wand back to John stiffly.

Karkaroff sneered:

"Ollivander, this is different from what you said at the beginning. Could it be that there is some special device hidden in that wand? For example, a small mechanism that can increase the probability of winning the Triwizard Tournament... something like this

You are the best at it. Otherwise, Hogwarts wouldn't have four warriors at the same time."

Ollivander said:

"That wand was made by my ancestors, that's why I said that! In fact, there is nothing wrong with it, it is just a normal wand!"

Hearing this, John took a deep look at Ollivander.

He believed that Ollivander must have seen something, but Ollivander said nothing.

This was somewhat beyond his expectation.

He had originally prepared some excuses to deal with Ollivander and Dumbledore's inquiries about the origin of the nun's wand.

As a result, it is no longer useful.

On the other side, Karkaroff was still a little unconvinced and was ready to refute Ollivander.

Dumbledore stood up in time and said:

"Then the testing ceremony is over. Everyone, please go back to class... Maybe it would be more convenient to go directly to eat. Anyway, they will end get out of class soon."
To be continued...
