Chapter 2 Whose Green Clothes

Wusheng responded subconsciously.

"Let's go."

The two monks went down the mountain and walked out of the forest.

The young monk stopped and looked back and saw that the woods behind him were dense, and the path was a little deep. Looking closely, it was a bit scary.

"Why are the temples built in such a deep forest?"

"Buddhist temple is a pure place." said Monk Kongxu.

"Wouldn't it be very inconvenient for people at the foot of the mountain to burn incense and worship Buddha?" Wusheng Tao.

During these days in the temple, Xiaohong and her family went to the mountains to worship Buddha and burn incense. They had not paid for the incense, but the abbot seemed very happy.

"If there is a Buddha in your heart, thousands of mountains and rivers are just free; if there is no Buddha in your heart, it is in vain." Monk Kongxu said.

"Well, there is some reason. If there are fewer people in the past, the incense is not strong and there is not much incense money. Is this a little harder life, right?"

In the temple these days, he had only one staple food, dry cakes, and he didn't know what they made of, so it was difficult to swallow, and he had to take water down, and he could count the rice particles with dilute porridge. In addition, he just ate some wild vegetables and fruits, and he couldn't eat enough. He didn't know why this monk Kongxu looked so white and fat. This was also the reason why he insisted on returning to secular life. If he stayed in the temple, he would definitely be malnourished and might starve to death.

"Yes, the abbot has lost weight recently!" Monk Kongxu said after pondering for a moment.

The two of them were talking while rushing. Not long after walking, a river blocked the front. The river was not wide, but only ten feet long. The river water was still clear. There were a lot of water plants at the bottom of the river. The banks on both sides were covered with various plants. There were clusters of purple flowers growing among the weeds, swaying in the wind, which looked very beautiful.

A wooden bridge on the river is more than ten feet wide. It looks a little old. There are a few weeds growing between the gaps. Standing on the bridge, you can see the slowly flowing river water through the gaps.

"Little monk."

Wusheng suddenly heard a woman's voice, very light and gentle.

"who?"

"Little monk."

The sound rang again, and when I heard it carefully, it seemed to be coming from under the bridge.

He walked to the bridge, held the wooden guardrail and looked down. The river water was flowing quietly, and the bottom of the river was densely filled with water plants, floating with the water flow.

"Little Monk." The voice sounded again.

"Who, where are you??"

"I'm here, right below."

Wusheng looked down. At some point, a small bamboo row floated in the river. On it was a young and beautiful girl about seventeen or eighteen years old, wearing light green clothes and thin waist. She looked very beautiful, with charming eyes and looking straight at him.

"Little monk, come down and talk with me?" the young girl said with a smile.

"No, I have something to do today, another day, another day."

"Down?" The woman's voice was very soft, as if she was whispering in her ear.

The monk felt his head a little confused. The more he looked at it, the more he felt that the young girl was so beautiful, so he wanted to talk to her, chat, and then subconsciously walked under the bridge.

"Wusheng, what are you doing?" Suddenly a voice rang.

The young monk only felt his head buzzing and his drowsiness. He shook his eyes a few times, and his body almost fell down. He stood firm and found that he had come down from the wooden bridge and came to the riverside.

Looking further into the river, the clear river water flows quietly, and the water plants are swaying.

"Just just now, there was a small bamboo steak in the river just now." Wusheng pointed at the river and said.

"Where are any bamboo steaks?" said Monk Kongxu.

"There is also a young and beautiful girl on the bamboo steak. I clearly saw it, but I still called me!"

"Wusheng, I heard from my teacher that even if the sky is beautiful, it will be just a bunch of red pink skeletons in the end."

"That's a ghost!" Wusheng's face changed and he was a little pale.

"Hey, there are no ghosts in the world, it's because people's hearts are not clean!" Monk Kongxu said with his hands together.

"Let's go, we go to the village to make vegetarian rice. After walking for so long, we are a little hungry for our teachers."

"Well, I'm hungry, too." Wusheng said.

After Monk Kongxu said this, he touched his stomach. After crossing the bridge, he looked back and saw the river flowing quietly.

What happened just now? Are you hallucinating? Why does it feel so real? Looking and listening, it’s like a real person.

When I arrived at the village head, I saw an old man with a slightly hunched back, leading a slightly thin old cow and walking slowly.

"donor."

"Monkey Kongxu, I disappeared for a while and you became fat again!" the old man said with a smile.

Kongxu smiled when he heard this.

"What are you doing down the mountain?"

"Go to Jinhua."

"Slow down the road." The old man said, and after he finished speaking, he led the cow and left.

"Donor, we have been walking for a long time and are a little tired. Can we go to the donor's house to ask for a bowl of water?" Kongxu followed behind and said.

"Drinking water is OK, but not eating." said the old man.

After hearing this, Kongxu's face was not embarrassed at all.

"Thank you, donor."

Follow the old man to an outside of a courtyard in the village.

“Wait more outside.”

After the cow was tied up, the old man entered the house and did not forget to lock the door to death, as if he was guarding against a thief. After a while, he came out with two clay bowls.

"Then, let's leave after drinking."

"Thank you, donor."

After the two monks finished drinking the water, the old man immediately turned around after taking the bowl, closed the door with a bang, and then inserted the door pin from inside.

"We seem to be very unpopular!" Wusheng said.

"Haha, we'll change households." Kongxu smiled.

They changed another family and knocked on the door. The one who opened the door was a middle-aged man wearing coarse cloth clothes. When they saw the two monks, their faces immediately calmed down.

“Donor, we…”

"No, go somewhere else!"

Before he finished speaking, the door was closed with a bang, and the door pin was inserted from inside.

"What's the situation?" Wusheng was stunned. "What did you do, so annoying?"

"Some individuals in the village have some prejudice against us." said Monk Kongxu.

"Is it a different person?" Wusheng said angrily. After walking for an afternoon, he was so hungry that he was rumbling. He originally wanted to go to this village to ask for a bowl of vegetarian food, but now he probably has no hope after the situation.

The two of them were saying this, and with a creaking sound, the door of the house opened to the front house, and a young girl walked out of it. Although she was dressed very roughly, she still looked quite attractive.

"Master Ning." Monk Kongxu smiled and said hello.

"Two masters." The girl smiled slightly.

A few days ago, this girl went to the temple to burn incense and make a wish, and she was named Ning Xiaohong.

She kindly told the two of them to the room and prepared vegetarian food for them. The dinner for the two of them was finally settled. This was also the first full meal that the young monk had eaten in the past few days.

"The Buddha will bless you." Kongxu said.

"Thank you, Master. If you don't dislike me, the two masters will spend the night at home, right?" Ning Xiaohong said.
