Volume 1 Rainfall of Cypress Leaves Chapter 1 The Promise

The annual lantern festival in the town has begun. Although it is like that every year, it is still very lively.

The market was full of hawking sounds, and all kinds of goods were filled with the entire street market. What food, clothing and use were so hard to see.

The boy pursed his lips and walked through the abortion. His small figure was buried in the crowd, and he could not be seen from afar.

The boy was holding a bunch of candied haws in his hand. The syrup on it had melted and dripped it on his hand along the label.

The syrup was always unpleasant. When I walked to a corner and saw that there was no one around, the boy threw away the candied haws in his hand and shook his hand desperately, trying to throw the syrup out.

"Littering, not quality!"

A crispy and light drink rang in the boy's ears.

The boy turned around and a little girl in a red dress looked at him disgusted, her eyes full of disgust. She looked at the candied haws on the ground, and showed a pity.

"If I throw my stuff away, I'll throw it away. What can you do?"

The boy replied coldly, then stopped looking at the little girl, and then shook the syrup in his hand.

"What are you doing so indifferent? If you didn't think you were good-looking, you wouldn't pay attention to you?"

The girl returned angrily, then pursed her mouth again, looked at the candied haws on the ground, and said, "I don't care, you apologize to me!"

"Or, buy me a bunch of candied haws, and that lady will forgive you."

The boy looked up and looked at the girl, full of surprise. I'm afraid he was sick, right?

The boy was stunned for a moment, and the corners of his mouth raised slightly, which looked very beautiful. Just as the girl said, the boy was indeed very beautiful. At a young age, although he still looked immature, he was also very likable.

"I want to eat candied haws, but I don't have any money?"

The girl was embarrassed, and her little face turned out to be very cute.

"You, do you know how many people are rushing to give me gifts? I don't want others to spend money on me. I ask you to buy things for me, so I appreciate you."

After holding it in for a while, the girl became angry as she looked at the boy's increasingly unrestrained smile.

"You are ungrateful!"

Seeing the little girl who was getting more and more anxious, with a little face blushing with embarrassment, the boy laughed, "Don't be anxious! Isn't it just candied haws? Buy you two bunches."

"Really?" The girl was very different. She blinked her eyes and looked at the boy in front of her. The boy was one head taller than the girl and had bright eyes.

"Let's go!" The boy smiled, then turned around and walked towards the market. On the other side of the street, there were people who bought candied haws.

"Okay, you're so nice!"

The girl jumped, then held the boy's hand and shook it around, very happy and smiling.

The lantern festival at night is even more lively, with people coming and going, and countless beautiful river lanterns floating down along the river passing through the town.

Many beautiful lanterns were hung on the shops on both sides of the river bank, and the lights illuminated the two sides, and the bridge was filled with people.

A man under the bridge confessed his love to the woman he liked through the lanterns. The woman was very surprised. With the cheerful blessings of the people around her, she took over the two combinations of lamps in the man's hand.

Not far away, the boy and the girl looked at this scene. The boy had no expression on his face and his eyes were indifferent. The girl seemed very moved and yearned for her.

"In the future, it would be great that my lover would confess to me like this, and that would definitely be very romantic."

"Oh!" The young man agreed easily, not interested.

"Oh? You don't have any thoughts. Are you not moved? Not a trace of touch?"

"No!" The boy was still very cold.

The girl pursed her lips and said nothing, looking at the boy next to her. She looked so beautiful, why is she so cold? She wasted her good skin and that face.

"Dead wood."

"What did you say?" The boy looked at the girl with unfriendly eyes.

The girl turned her face and looked into the distance. The lanterns gathered countless lights illuminating the town, with people coming and going, and it was lively. He liked this feeling very much. It was not deserted, and there were people, so it was great.

"My family lives in Chang'an. I am from the Tang Dynasty. I only have you as a friend. Tomorrow, I will go back with my father. I may not come here again in the future and will never see you again."

The boy remained silent and looked at the girl tightly, feeling sad for no reason.

"When I grow up, I will go to Chang'an to find you."

"Is that good?"

The girl turned around and looked at the boy, her tender face was full of seriousness.

"Okay, then I'll wait for you in Chang'an!"

After saying that, the girl turned around and walked to the distance. Some middle-aged man was waiting for her quietly, preparing to take her back.

The boy looked at the girl walking away and remained silent.

The girl suddenly turned around and ran towards the boy, spread her arms and hugged the girl in her arms. The boy's eyes were full of reluctance.

"Take this, go to Chang'an, go to Huai Palace, where am I waiting for you?" the girl stuffed a jade pendant into the boy's hands and said seriously.

"I'm waiting for you in Chang'an, you must come!"

The lantern festival continued, countless people came and went, but no one noticed that a girl disappeared in the crowd. In the street market, a young man stared at the jade pendant in his hand, held it tightly, and put it in his arms.
