Chapter 2 Monkeys

The tide comes and goes like the wind sweeping away the clouds, and the lonely water kid is like an abandoned stone.

Suddenly, I found a gray shadow that looked like a human being lying on the bank of the river ahead. Shuiwa walked over curiously and found that it was a big monkey.

The monkey was thin and had no fur, and only had a grass skirt wrapped around her waist.

Shuiwa plucked up the courage to push hard a few times, and saw that the monkey was motionless like a wooden carving, with only slightly rising and falling on her chest.

Shuiwa had an idea and squatted by the river again, holding a handful of river water with both hands, and sprinkled it on the monkey's face.

After repeating this several times, the monkey finally woke up and said weakly:

"Am I still alive? Is there any peaches..."

Shuiwa was shocked and said strangely:

"Hey! You monkey can actually speak."

The monkey seemed to have tried his best to lift his claws and wave them, and said:

"First... don't talk about these first, hurry up... help me find something to eat."

"So you are hungry. I have food at home, but there are no peaches."

"Take it all..."

"You wait, I'll be back soon."

Shuiwa ran away, and soon rushed back, holding four hard cakes in her hand.

The monkey felt energetic when he saw the food, but he still had no strength to stand up. He could only sit cross-legged on the ground, and forced himself to breathe and smile:

"I didn't expect that your little kid would run faster, just like the kids on Huaguo Mountain."

"Huaguo Mountain? What Huaguo Mountain, are there gods on it?" Shuiwa asked with his head turned around.

"I don't have the strength now, I'll tell you when I'm full."

"Well, then you eat it."

The monkey took the bread handed over by Shuiwa and hugged it in his arms, for fear that he would be taken away by accident.

But he sighed, "Oh, it's not easy to find immortals these days, so let's just eat it."

He picked up a dough cake with his left claw and scratched it a few times on it. Suddenly, his eyes turned and he laughed:

"Hehe, I forgot that this is not a peach."

Shuiwa found it fun and just stood by and watched.

Although the monkey has a small mouth, it can't be eaten quickly. The monkey is like a chicken pecking at rice, and soon swallows all four pancakes into her stomach.

He finally had the strength and got up, half a head taller than Shuiwa.

He lay down by the river and drank several large gulps of river water before he burped with satisfaction.

He got up and patted the soil on his chest, and clasped his fists with his claws:

"Little baby, you are my savior. I thanked you here. I just sat sore my legs, so I won't kneel down for you."

"You don't have to do that. I can't afford it. I just have a few cakes, it's no big deal." Shui Wa waved her hand quickly.

Although he said this, he felt happy and felt that he had done something great.

But the monkey shook his head and said, "No, no, no, I deserve a pie of grace..."

He was stunned again and said with his fingers: "No, it is the kindness of the second, third, and four cakes. Little baby, the kindness of the four cakes should be repaid by thousands of cakes. Wait, wait until I become an immortal and return to you all the gold and silver cakes in the world."

Although Shuiwa is young and rarely interacts with others, the grandmother always teaches him to be kind to others and not to repay kindness.

Then he shook his head and said, "You don't have to do this. Why do I want so many golden cakes and silver cakes?"

"Hehe, you little kid are not greedy, I like it very much." The monkey grinned.

"I heard you just said you want to become an immortal. Is it that good to become an immortal?"

"Hehe," the monkey scratched the back of his head, as if he was a little embarrassed, "I heard that others said it was very good. Come on, let's sit down and talk."

In the scorching sun, the water kid doesn't know the heat, but the monkey is not afraid of heat. Each person and the monkey sit side by side.

The monkey asked first, "Little baby, what's your name?"

"My name is Shuiwa, and I live in a village not far away." Shuiwa said.

"Shuiwa? Are your surname Shui?"

"I don't know, my grandmother gave me the name."

"Where is your parents?"

"I was raised by my grandmother since I was a child. My grandmother said that my parents were all in a long distance and they would come to pick me up when I grew up."

The monkey also looked lonely and sighed:

"What a poor child, I'm not to hide it. I'm a born stone monkey with no father or mother, and I don't have a name. I'm born to be a good person and a beast. I have the ability that other monkeys don't have, and have become the king of Huaguo Mountain with some brute force..."

When talking about Huaguo Mountain, the monkey immediately shone with light and said excitedly:

"My Huaguo Mountain has mountains, water, food and drink, and the jackals, tigers and leopards all over the mountain are obeying my orders. My children and I spend all day traveling and enjoying the water in Huaguo Mountain, drinking and having fun in the Water Curtain Cave. When I have time, I will definitely invite you to sit on Huaguo Mountain, invite you to eat the best peaches and the best wine..."

This monkey looks like an adult, but it is also a childish tone.

After all, Shuiwa is a playful age, so she couldn't help but clap her hands:

"Okay, as long as my grandma is willing, I will definitely go to your Huaguo Mountain to have fun for a while."

"Is your grandma your grandma?" the monkey asked again.

Shuiwa frowned and said after a while:

"It seems, no, he is my grandmother and never let me suffer any grievances."

"It's great to have grandma, but my grandma doesn't have grandma."

"Monkey, who is his grandma?"

"Oh..." The monkey scratched his ears and said shyly, "I just said something bad, you little baby don't have to pay attention to it. You are my great benefactor. I won't hide it from you if I have something to do. In fact, I have been away from Huaguo Mountain for five or six years."

"I heard that Huaguo Mountain is so good, why did you leave?" Shuiwa asked in confusion.

"You just asked me if there are any gods on Huaguo Mountain. Huaguo Mountain is good everywhere. It is because there are no gods that I left."

"Why?"

The monkey looked at Tongtian River slowly, but instead said in an old-fashioned way:

"Although the Huaguo Mountain is good, there are flowers blooming, falling, growing, old, sick and dead. I am a natural stone monkey. I was born with immortal roots and have lived for more than 300 years old..."

"Wow, you are over 300 years old, you are already a god." Shuiwa couldn't help but interrupt.

The monkey sighed again: "Shuiwa doesn't know anything. Every year in Huaguo Mountain, my children grow old and children are born. I began to be confused. Until one day I dreamed of the cow head and horse face to seduce my soul, I realized that I will have a day to die sooner or later. I couldn't help crying loudly. When the children knew about it, they said that there were gods outside the mountain, and they all encouraged me to go out to find immortals, learn the art of immortality, and teach them to be immortals together when they came back..."
