Riding on one’s face

Author: Half-wounded but not broken

Riding on one’s face

Dragon cards are being played on this table, but the rules are slightly different from those played by ordinary people.

The dealer in charge of dealing cards saw Pei Renli sitting down and prompted:

"Please put down your chips and I can deal the cards after you throw the dice."

This game is divided into dealers and players. Everyone's chips must be the same, and the gameplay is similar to blackjack.

After the player sits down, he first throws four dice and gets a number with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 24, and then the dealer is responsible for dealing the cards. Players can ask for unlimited cards, but the sum of the numbers on all the cards cannot exceed the number they just threw.

When a player decides that he doesn't want to play any more cards, he can directly open the cards.

The closer the number is to the number thrown, the better. If there are multiple players with cards in their hands that are equally close to the number thrown out, then all players are winners and the chips on the table will be divided equally.

If all players exceed the numbers they cast, the dealer takes all.

It seems that this rule is very beneficial to the players. The dealer can only get money if all the players blow up, but since the casino dares to use this project, it must be confident.

Pei Renli looked at the chips on the table, took out three gold coins and put them on top of each other, with a disdainful expression of 'it's just a small amount of money'.

After all players have rolled the dice, the dealer begins to deal the cards.

Counting Pei Renli, there were four players at the table. After the first round of card dealing, everyone tapped the table easily to indicate that the cards should continue to be dealt.

But when the third round of card dealing was over, Pei Renli was the only player who continued to ask for the card deal.

It seems that Peri Renli has cast a quite large number, but in fact, the number he cast is only 10. This number is likely to be exploding on the first card, and the total number of all four cards in his hand is

If the probability does not exceed 10, it will be very low.

What's more, Pei Renli continues to ask for cards.

When there were five cards in front of him, he finally stopped asking for them. When he turned around and looked at them, they were 1, 3, 4, 1, and 6.

If he didn't ask for the fifth card, the odds of winning are still very high.

The dealer's dealing of cards seems fair, but in fact it is too easy for them to deal out the cards. They can deal out which cards they want to whomever they want.

He may have seen Pei Renli's face, and planned to let him win two hands first, and then start killing after he got hooked. This is also a classic casino trick.

However, Pei Renli overestimated his ability and asked for cards indiscriminately, so there was nothing he could do, so he had to let his memory explode.

Kaya, who was standing behind Pei Renli, also saw his cards. This girl was definitely not suitable for playing cards. She frowned immediately when she saw this.

Perrenli was still completely unfazed. He lightly wiped the 6 with his finger, and then put all the cards back on the table.

"Please open the cards."

Two of them have already exploded, and one of them is only 2 away from the number he shot, so he has a high chance of winning.

But when everyone saw the cards Pei Renli placed on the table, they turned into 1, 3, 4, 1, and 1 respectively.

Exactly 10.

The other three stood up and left the table cursing, cursing their bad luck. They planned to go to the other tables next door to check the situation. They probably lost a lot.

The croupier pushed all the gold coins in front of Pei Renli, but he also glanced at the edge of the casino.

He knew very well what the fifth card dealt to Pei Renli was. He was obviously dealt a 6, but the card turned out to be a 1. This was an unabashed cheat.

Of course, the dealer in the casino was also cheating, so he couldn't make it clear, so he made a wink and found someone who could take care of the matter.

Just as Pei Ren piled up the chips on the table, a tall, thin, one-eyed middle-aged man signaled the dealer to leave and stood in the dealer's position.

"Sir, do you want to continue playing?"

"Of course we are playing, otherwise what would I be doing here?"

With a generous push, he pushed all the twelve gold coins on the table to the chip area.

Not to be outdone, the new dealer also took out twelve gold coins from the cash box next to him and placed them on the table.

"Please roll the dice."

This time, Pei Renli threw a 7. It seemed that God was not willing to let him gamble, and the numbers were getting smaller and smaller.

Signaling the dealer to deal the cards, Pei Renli once again asked for a full five cards.

When I picked it up and looked at it, I saw that it was really terrible and had exploded several times.

Still using the old method, Pei Renli flicked his finger and threw the cards on the table. All five cards were 1.

If it was just sneaking out just now, now it is an unabashed provocation.

But the dealer was not angry at all. He smiled and said:

"Unexpectedly, there is a mage in my small casino who is willing to condescend to play."

The spell Pei Renli used was concealment, a type of low-level illusion. He once used this trick to fool the lizardman Nat.

But this time it was not a lie, but a deliberate call to the casino manager.

"I heard that the Goldfish in the Water is an old casino with a lot of history and is quite famous."

"You are overly flattering."

The other party glanced at Kaya and Alindra who were standing behind Perenli, and then sat across the table across from Perenli.

"What do you call it?"

"Hector, my friends all like to call me Black Fish."

The black fish he was talking about is actually a deep-sea fish with one eye blue and one eye white. It looks like one eye is blind.

"I believe you are not here to have fun."

"That's right."

Pei Renli said very straightforwardly:

"We are here to find something, I don't know..."

He stretched out his hand, picked up a dice, and stared at Hector's every move:

"Have you ever heard of a twenty-sided lucky die?"

"Sorry sir, I haven't seen Larry for several days."

"No, no, no, you must have seen it."

Pei Renli threw away the dice and said:

"I just talked about lucky dice, not Larry."

All intelligent creatures have the ability to associate. Mentioning one thing will involuntarily associate it with another thing closely related to it. This is instinctive.

"And I noticed that your eyes are slightly tilted to the upper left, so okay, don't think of any excuses."

When lying, a little micro-expression will appear on the face, which is difficult to eradicate even with training.

This is why Pei Renli stares at each other's every move.

"You are joking."

Hector said:

"Everyone here knows that Larry has a lucky dice as a talisman, which is very common among gamblers. I thought you were looking for Larry to collect debts."

"Like you said, using dice as good luck charms is common among gamblers, so why would you think of Larry?"

Pei Renli supported his chin with both hands and stared at Hector with interest:

"Please forgive me for being so fussy. After all, you have successfully aroused my curiosity."

The more you say, the more mistakes you make, and the small details in the conversation will reveal flaws.

Kaya, who was standing behind Perenli, touched his back quietly. In her peripheral vision, she could see that the thug who was originally standing by the wall seemed to be approaching.

After all, the situation on this table is not very friendly at first glance.

Perrenli raised his hand to put the hat straight. The next moment, dozens of eyes opened on the seemingly ordinary wizard's hat. This startled Hector, and even the thugs who approached seemed to move back.

It seems that it’s not that Kaya and Alindra’s aesthetic sense is unacceptable, but that most people find it difficult to accept a hat with dozens of eyes.

What was even more frightening was that, centered on the place where Pei Renli's hand touched the table, a circle of bright red and blood-like patterns spread quickly like a living thing, and soon covered the entire gaming table.

This is an illusion, but it is also a warning. If you don't give me a satisfactory answer, I will make the illusion become a reality. As for whose blood is used, it doesn't seem to matter.

"Mr. Hector, let's have a frank chat."

Pei Renli ignored the approaching thugs and said:

"I'm looking for Larry. I know he's with you. Myself and my companions have no ill intentions towards you or your casino. All we want is a dwarf."

Of course, Hector couldn't give up everything with just one sentence. He calmed down and deliberately did not look at the oppression caused by the dozens of eyes on Perenli's head.

"You misunderstood, I really haven't seen Larry in the past few days."

"Really? Then I want to know why when I said Larry, your eyes moved slightly to the right? That direction should be the VIP room, right?"
To be continued...
